Fox Searchlight has acquired an untitled pitch from "Jumping the Broom" producer Tracey Edmonds and "Basketball Wives" star Shaunie O'Neal.
"Broom" scribe Elizabeth Hunter will pen the script, with Edmonds and O'Neal producing under the former's Our Stories Films banner. Shingle's Glendon Palmer and Phil Robinson will exec produce.

O'Neal, the ex-wife of NBA superstar Shaquille O'Neal, exec produces and stars in VH1's "Basketball Wives."

Drawing loosely from the lives of O'Neal and some of her friends, the Searchlight project centers around a young woman who follows her boyfriend to Miami after he gets drafted into the NBA. Thrust into the world of professional sports, she meets the other players' wives and learns from their trials and tribulations.

"The beauty of a feature film is that we'll have the ability to dig much deeper into the stories and characters that come from this very colorful world and create a very juicy, action-packed narrative," Edmonds told Variety, adding that O'Neal originally reached out to the producer via Twitter.

Anonymous Content, attorney Darren Trattner and WME rep Hunter, who is currently writing a script for TBS and Lionsgate TV. Eisner and Frank rep Edmonds, while Sovereign Talent Group reps O'Neal.

How nice, something else to glorify gold-diggers and grown women acting like damn fools.

The same women who watch this complain about images of women of color in the media.

That said, it can do well...the market is wide open for "black films" after Think Like A Man.

I swear Shaunie is the blueprint for these types of chicks to get paid. Get with an athlete who will eventually cheat on them, yet
wire money to your account throughout the entire marriage in preparation for the infidelity/divorce. I wish WNBA players got
paid like the NBA players.
