That's like me saying Scarface wasn't even about a gangster, but a Cuban refugee.

You're entitled to your own opinion, but for me Scarface just doesn't have all the layers of the Coppola and Scorsese gangster movies. A gangster that is as all muscle and no brains as Scarface who consistently isn't capable of swallowing his pride and opens his mouth to armed gangsters while he is still working at a fast food joint would get himself killed waaay before getting to the top. Like I said, it's a character who appeals to rebellious teenagers who like to think that they don't take no **** from no one. Entertaining movie though, don't get me wrong.

it's not like saying that at all, in both casino and goodfellas the main character turned from being a gangster, so you saying scarface is about a refugee is not comparable, because the movie details him becoming a gangster, while again casino and goodfellas depicts a gangster becoming either a concierge or rat, respectively.......and you act like scarface was completely hot headed, omar disrespected him from the jump, some people back down some people stand up, but pretending you can predict an aggressive character can't become a legit badass boss only lets me know you don't know who beanie sigel is, not the rapper....... p.s. what brains did goodfellas show that scarface didn't show

Scarface is overrated but it's still top 5 gangster movies just off of the quotables alone. People that haven't even seen Scarface can't quote that film. I blame Trick Daddy

Some of the gangster/gang related movies I fool with heavy that should be talked about
1. The Warriors (my favorite gang related movie of all time. Loved the old school NY gang scene where gang members wore vests to show who they was rocking with)
2. Colors (was a nice depiction of LA gang culture for the time.)
