The Woman King. I enjoyed the film. The aesthetics, the story, the themes. Good acting, well shot. Not particularly historically accurate but an enjoyable film.

a lot of weird takes in the thread. Some folks seem to be completely ignoring the financial aspect to choosing a college and it also feels like there’s an underlying tone that attending a PWI is choosing the “easy way out” so you don’t get to enjoy any aspect of “HBCU culture”. At the same time, with kind of sh*t that goes on at PWI’s I can understand wanting to gate keep aspects of black culture. But it’s at the expense of other black people…literally and figuratively
With the whole backdrop being usc gives free tuition for kids from family’s that make under 80k

I kinda felt like this with Ralph Lauren HBCU line. Morgan State was the only one I supported with their merch because I spent a lot of good times there when I had friends who were enrolled, but couldn't see myself buying HBCU stuff from RL.

"Another Twitter user took the opportunity to provide a history lesson and cautioned Princess about referring to her group as a “majorette team” instead of what the tweet claimed was the more accurate term of “J-Setting/Drill Teams”. The Twitter user said that style of dance was originated at an HBCU.
“While individuals are using the terminology ‘Majorettes’ to describe this dance-style, that is actually incorrect; the proper connotative word is ‘J-Setting or ‘J-Settes’ or ‘Drill Teams’, which is a derivative of the Jackson State University ‘J-Settes’ from whence its named,” the tweet said."

I bet it is. RL is prolly my most owned designer for clothing. It being cheaper than the campus bookstore is a surprise tho based off my RL experienceWent to an HBCU.

Morgan Grad here: they gave me a free ride in my desired field of study, and I enjoyed my time there. I know HBCU’s ain’t for everyone, but I would recommend it, especially for our brothers and sisters who went to PWI schools their whole lives leading up to college.
