Blueprint Appreciation.

2 of the biggest issues I have with BP are 1) I don't like how he bit Slick Rick on The Rulers Back and 2) I cannot stand the fact that he disses NaS andthen clearly bites his "from the womb to the tomb" line on Never Change. Oh, I'm glad some people agree with my stance on BP too. Nice use of theJoker .gif Cake

we use to listen to this in my Algebra class in high school

we'd be doin work and the teacher would just buss out sayin "man i wanna hear some blueprint!"

fam, this is EXACTLY how i feel about the album. i dunno..

I feel the same way. TBA actually gets more spins from me....not saying Blueprint is a bad album btw, just don't hold in as high regard as others.

yeah, me too. the only Jay albums i play on the regular are RD and Black Album. they just... sound better.

AG was coke though.

As for this, I agree with Blazinjkid--- only track I agree with skipping is Jigga That @#$*@

Everything else - heatrock.

But there were also too ill bonus tracks no one had mentioned. That "Girls Girls Girls" RMX is crazy.

I think abeautifulhaze and Rilla got it right about this album.

Did someone in here say Izzo (HOVA) is "commercial nonsense?" That's like saying Hey Ya is commercial nonsense. That is a beautifulsong.

Hey Ya was flat out pop music. Brittney Spears literally has more lyrical songs.

Agreed. But I always listen to it up to the point of "I am killin em out there, they needin first aid, cause the boy got more 6's thanfirst grade"

(I like that line alot), and then its on to the nexttrack. And I never understood the hate for "Hola Hovito".

you can call it a classic if you want, i won't.

it's a good record, not one of the best of all time.

CLASSIC!
I will basically be listening to this album for the rest of my life

One of my Fav. Jay-Z albums.
Always Appreciated.

Girls, Girls, Girls was my least favorite song ever by Jay-z. Other than that, the Blueprint was pretty ill.

cool album
plenty of dope tracks

The Black Album >
IMO

Listen to the lyrics of Hey Ya aand come back to me. Hey Ya might be one of the greatest songs of the last decade.

are you being serious? hey ya is straight pop music like meb said, but you didn't disagree with that, but you really want the lyrics to heyya?

Then what makes, Then what makes, Then what makes
Then what makes, Then what makes LOOVVEEE?
(Love exception) So why you, why you
Why you, why you, why you are we so in denial
When we are not happy heeeerrreeee...
Shake it, shake, shake it, shake it (OHH OH)
Shake it, shake it, shake, shake it, shake it, shake it (OHH OH)
Shke it, shake it like a Poloroid Picture, shake it, shake it.
Code:
great song or not, hey ya is not lyrical at all.i don't even like izzo, but even i wouldn't take it to the hey ya level, both songs serve different purposes.

YUKU was acting up on me yesterday, so I was only been able to reply back today.........

It's a good album but thats where it stops. The most overrated album of the past decade, easily.
Again, I strongly stand behind my original statement with Blueprint behind the most complete/well-rounded hip hop album of all-time. It has theill intro, diss track, vicious collabo, party track, production, bravado, commercial track, and remix all in one package. You dudes are going to be searchingquite a long time to try and find an album that covers this much ground.

You lie... either that or you are delusional
No sir, the liar or the delusional individual would be YOU for not believing in my point. That's okay though, there still time for you tocorrect the error in your ways.

2 of the biggest issues I have with BP are 1) I don't like how he bit Slick Rick on The Rulers Back

I don't see how that's an issue when he has Slick Rick on a chorus line for Girls, Girls, Girls.
Hate it or love it....its still a classic album.
Truth.

Ok...

There's NO way this is the MOST complete album... On ANY level... Lets be honest

1. The Rulers Back
He's just talkin about how great he is and how we should be happy he's back...

2. Takeover
He's talkin about why he's better than everyone else again, this time he names names

3. Izzo
ANOTHER song about himself... and why you should know the spelling of his 7th or 8th alias

4. Girls, Girls, Girls
He's rapping about himself once again... And how many girls he gets and what their doin... Clever

5. Jigga That Ninja
You guessed it... Back to rapping about himself (5 tracks in and he's covered more or less the EXACT same subject)

6. You Don't Know
You'd figuire after 5 songs with more or less the SAME sunject matter, you WOULD know... But Jay Z thinks not, so he's gonna tell you a little moreabout himself

7. Hola Hovito
Another song about himself... Shout out to all the Latinos that buy albums...

8. Heart Of The City
He's not rapping about himself (too much) on this one... More from a perspective looking @ the game.

9 Never Change
Another song about himself... And why he won't change... 9 tracks in, he hasn't seemed to change his subject matter much either... But this is my favjoint.

10. Song Cry
Song about a girl...

11. All I Need
Another song about himself...
12. Renegade
Nothing bad to say about this...

13. Momma Loves Me
A song about himself and why the people around him cared for him so much...

14. Lyrical Exercise
Another song about why he's better than every other rapper

15. Girls, Girls, Girls
Same as the first, different beat a little less entertaining... But not by much

Granted there's prolly about 25 things to rap about, people only care for about 4 or 5 of them @ a time... But I don't think this is anywhere close tobeing the MOST complete album, I mean he tackles 3 or 4 subjects over the span of 15 songs... Lyrically its proficient... The production is amazing... and itsJay Z... It really can't be THAT bad... Classic it may be... But this is prolly in the middle teir of classics if you will... There's no way I wouldput this on the level of a Illmatic, Ready To Die, Makaveli or even Reasonable Doubt... Not to take a jab @ the album... But lets be honest...

This album gets HATED On for the same reason why its raised to such heights... Its Jay Z...

This more or less what I was about to type... thank god for my ability to read through an entire thread

That huge font is why it gets the love it gets. I mean honestly, the album was good but in my personal opinon it rest in the middle of his catalog. That albumbrought the soul back to the beats and I'll give it props for that other than that... Y'all seem to be waaaaaaaaaaaay off base concerning its worth.

Hey Ya was one of the worst and most embarrassing songs ever created by anyone claiming to be hip hop artists.
