Bruce Gradkowski Appreciation

Call it a hunch, desperation, whatever, but the move worked, as Gradkowski directed the Raiders on back-to-back scoring drives for a lead they held the rest of the game en route to a 16-14 victory at the Oakland Coliseum.
Fans serenaded Gradkowski with chants of "Bruce! Bruce! Bruce!" as the game clock expired.
A day after being waived by the Browns, Gradkowski was claimed off waivers by the Oakland Raiders.
On November 22, 2009, in his first start for the Raiders, Gradkowski threw 2 touchdowns, matching JaMarcus Russell's total for the season to that point, and led the team to a 20-17 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. In week 13, the Raiders won 27-24 on a huge upset against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Gradkowski completed 20 of 33 passes for 308 yards and 3 touchdowns, including an 11-yard game winning touchdown to Louis Murphy. For his performance in this game he was awarded the AFC Offensive Player of the Week award for week 13 of the regular season.[sup][4][/sup][sup][5][/sup] It was also a new record in the NFL, for the most come from behind touchdowns thrown in the 4th Quarter since 1991, when statistical records started to keep track of this.

Funny how when I talked to Raiders fans before the season, they were telling me that Jason Campbell was going to breathe new breath on the Raiders offense. Now we have Gradkowski appreciation posts. I told yall JC sucks and it wasn't just the fact that I was a ******** fan who had negative bias lol. He is a great backup at best.

I never thought campbell was the answer. I wanted a McNabb trade or Gradkowski to start. Oakland has never had a premier quarterback. We won three superbowl with good not great quarterbacks with alot of fire and will. Stabler (1 SB) and Plunkett (2SB) and Gannon (NFL MVP) were not superstars but they played hard. That is what oakland is use to. Gradkowski is that kind of guy. The raiders are a place for new beginnings despite what moss and sapp have to say.
