I've been learning the basics of card counting for blackjack (Hi-Lo) and plan on doing some more reading about it.
For those of you who have done it, I have a few questions...
How long did it take you to become proficient at it?
Can you make decent money if you don't do it frequently?
How profitable is it, as in, if you're not a career player, what's the average profit?
Do you do it alone or with other people?
Are there any legal problems you could run into if the only thing you used was your brain, and you left when asked by the casino?
Are there any measures casinos take to avoid allowing someone to keep a count?
Any info would be great, seems fairly easy to learn, just wondering what I was getting into.
