Thats exactly what they are trying to do... remember how nightmare on elm street started out then later on freddy become more comedic as the sequels proceeded.There is a lack of suspense in most of the horror films that are out now. Most of them rely on gore and special effects. Thats why most of the audience arelaughing instead of getting scared. I actually think rebooting childs play is the best decision they could of made. Although I enjoyed the whole franchise ialways had wondered how the series would of turned out if all of the sequels maintained a scary tone. If they are gonna do this they got to do it right. Youhave to be very careful when you start remaking or rebooting a horror movie that is centered around a horror icon. As long as chucky isnt cgi and they continueusing animatronics along with the right camera angles, lighting and suspense and all of the necessary elements that good horror films have then they shouldhave a decent start. The rest rely on how much they change the plot and the overall execution of the film

I have all 5 movies in a collector's edt. I first saw Child's Play when I was 6 and my brother's were 8 & 10. They got scared & Ididn't for some reason.

I wasn't thrilled when I heard they were remaking this. But if Brad is in it, then maybe there is some hope?

IM 20, AND I WATCHED THIS MOVIE A FEW MONTHS BACK AND IT STILL HAS THE SAME SUSPENSE FACTOR IT ALWAYS HAD

I was about 4 or 5 when the original Child's Play came out. It also happened to be around the same time that "My Buddy" dolls were out. Safe tosay that me and that doll fell out after I saw this movie. I buried him deep in my toy trunk and moved my trunk into the closet. Pt. 2 & 3 were just plainfun though lol.
