I don't think that thought even crosses my mind. I usually pay for what I can pay and she pays for whatever she can pay. If she makes more money at the time, she sucks most of the rent, if I make more money I suck most of the rent. We don't even have to ask each other, it just works.

You date someone you're going to have a ton of sleepovers so that should give you some context, no need to dive all the way in unless it's very clear she's it. Being that it's my crib I paid about 100% of the bills and let her cover groceries. I've recently let up a bit because it's been a year and clearly she isn't going anywhere so now she helps with gas and water. Mortgage, home repairs and anything home related is still mine.

I hate to say I do it for dominance but there is some peace of mind knowing that if **** go south I can say ***** with no remorse.

The first couple months with her at my spot were difficult but they've since gotten better. I really wish I would've waited a bit longer, because I honestly never got to enjoy my crib as a single man but otherwise I've learned a lot and I'm thankful to have my most serious relationship thus far.


I will say if I don't marry this chick I will probably never have another GF live with me until we are married. Sharing space isn't always the easiest.

when it comes to housing I usually pay a majority of it. Arguments will occur and it sounds weird telling her to get the **** out when the house notes 50/50.

Living with your SO is crucial to making sure you're compatible.

i started out by living with my girl who was my friend like 5 years ago, i was going through some rough times and she had an extra room.

a couple of years later we have a home and moved across the U.S.

shes awesome she cooks cleans and has her ish together, you gotta know the person you are planning to make a big commitment like that with,

you just cant go by well shes my girl and all my friends live with their girls etc..

when we first lived together i lived in her spare room, and as time went on we became closer and then that room became the spare room again with my music equipment.

at our house we have 2 extra rooms and one is my music room and the other is an office type room.

Before we were married living in the house I bought prior to her I paid for everything besides groceries. She handled cooking, cleaning, and if she wanted to change decor or paint colors it was on her.

After a couple years of that we married and bought a house together and at that point we had joint accounts. She handles all the bills but I make about 5x what she does so I pay most but it's our money so it's one in the same.

She's pretty good with managing money she handles the bills for our house as well as our new vacation condo that we will close on next week and all the expenses with our rental properties.

I just work, fix everything that breaks, and deal with the tenant issues.

I have lived with a couple women over the years, I would never get married before I lived with someone. My wife was the only one that after living with for more than a month I didn't want drive my car off a cliff.

Truth is, a house is an expense, not necessarily an investment. If I owned a house, I would require my wife/girl to pay half of the mortgage and bills. In turn she does not have to pay property tax. When she divorces me, best believe the court is giving her half of my house.
