Speaking of jewelry, why do women insist on spending several grand on some ring or whatever that is so small it's barely visible? A nice watch trumps any ring IMO. Class rings are corny, unless you went to a well-known school.

I think most people who buy those rings are students who loved their school and proud of attending there. No shame in that. Some might see it as a symbol of all their hard work and accomplishment in earning their degree.
