school you go to does make a difference though.
Well, UMMC isn't that bad of a school, just cause it's in Mississippi doesn't mean it's any "less" of a school.
http://som.umc.edu/
Our school has a remarkable history for one so small and relatively young. We are proud to have been home to two of the most famous names in American medicine. Both Dr. Arthur C. Guyton and Dr. James D. Hardy spent their careers here. Guyton was the first author of the Textbook of Physiology, used by more medical students around the world than any other medical text. He was also one of the world's foremost physiologists and trained 29 physiologists who went on to become chairs in medical schools around the country and world. Hardy led a team that performed the world's first lung transplant in 1963 and the world's first heart transplant in 1964. And as proud as we are of our history, we take just as much pride in our future - a future vested in the lives and careers of prospective medical students just like you. In our time, we want to help solve some of Mississippi's previously intractable health dilemmas - access to care and the disparities of health status between rich and poor, black and white.

Yeah but I go to UMMC--It's the Jackson campus. Sorry you think my school sucks, I kinda like it. lol

Son did you see the courses some of these guys were taking? Not exactly rocket science.

I mean, there is a hierarchy for major difficulty. Ask around your university or google it. Companies know and Grad/law/med schools know that a 3.5 in certain majors is harder to attain than a 3.5 in other majors. I mean I'd expect a fine arts or English major to have a higher GPA then an Accounting or Aerospace Engineering major. Different schools also have different difficulty reputations. Some schools are notorious for inflating grades, again common knowledge.

A good indicator to see how difficult your major or class is is to compare your GPA with the general population in the same major/class. If your at a good 4 year university and 40% of the students have a 3.0 or higher, your major/class is probably is easy. If your at a good 4 year university and the average in your major/class is a 2.5 then your major/class is probably hard.

You need to realize the difference between getting an A where 30% the students get As in the class and getting an A where 7/200 students get an A.

Again, I'm not trying to discredit anyone in this post. My response to the question is directed more at the guys who feel their GPA is low compared to others in this thread. You need to compare yourself to your peers not NT.
Aerospace is not where you GPA is popping.

Just finish my finals today. Will hit you guys when I get my letter grades back.

I had my worst semester on record. I will have to retake a class so I can replace the grade. I'm not telling my parents about how I performed thissemester.

Just graduated with my BS in May. 3.68 cumulative gpa, Cum Laude.

Finished with 29 A's and 10 B's in college.
