Corner Store. Liquor Store. Or Bodega

Corner store in MA.

"I gotta run to the corner real quick"

Liquor Stores are their own thing  corner stores/bodegas to me are spots I can run into for a bottle of water, soda, Gatorade, etc + chips and ****.

Aka a liquor store

Again. A liquor store  Ours have all that ****

Guess its different from city to city then. Liquor stores here have beer, liquor, wine and a miserable old person asking for ID. Chips, cigarettes, lottery and ice if you're lucky.

Cornerstore or bodega.

Liquor stores around my way only sell liquor.
We used to call ours the “***” coming up because they were ran by Japanese.

Now I think about it, that’s bigotry.
That's wild bigotry

That’s what I grew up near me. So just off of habit every bodega or corner store gets called a deli. I feel like most corner stores at least got a grill in nyc anyways.
Yeah not all of them have a deli cause due to the fact its takes a while for the store to get a food handling license to make food and much longer process to get a liquor license.

They also are expensive to obtain these licenses.

Thought someone made this same thread a month ago

Used to be....

Ahk....habibi....corner store even if not on a actual corner....or str8 up name (4 corners, gonzos, Bill's etc) oh and when I did, "loose spot on ------"

Crazy I never called them bodegas

I'm born and bred in California. So liquor store is always what I use. Been in nyc for 3 years I cringe when non nyers call it bodega.

Liquor store. If they don't sell liquor they are still called a liquor store. Might not make sense but it just sounds right (from Oakland CA btw).

Cali wide thing. If it ain't a chain and don't sell gas, it's a liquor store
