At this point Dave just needs to go away. The attempts he’s made to save face have been pathetic.

His ego seems too fragile to take full ownership for his decisions. He’s made his bed and needs to accept that a lot of people aren’t gonna rock with him the way they used to instead of deflecting and victimizing himself.

Or you could just stop watching him. Especially if you don't "rock with him".

No need for him to go away then.
Outside of everything, the quality of work has decreased severely. It’s been a minute since the last special that he wasn’t on some personal crusade to make a point.

He could definitely use a breath before he tries to reboot Chappelle’s Show and he just comes off even more self-aggrandizing with the message he wants to push today.

Maybe I’m bugging, though.

I get this opinion from some ppl. I know some who say since he left Chappelle show he hasn't been funny.

There's a ton of ppl with a different opinion. Netflix offered a ton of money for stand up specials. The specials are highly watched and enjoyed.

I personally don't see a dip in quality at all. Just different topics being highlighted. If we talking timing it's not like he's flooding the market with a ton of specials anyway. Dave has stepped away between each special and the same ppl come back to watch and complain and say it's not funny. To me it makes more sense to stop watching Dave instead of being entitled and saying he should stop especially if you've complained about all of his recent specials and genuinely don't enjoy it.

Once he drops something I'm not entertained by I'll stop engaging. He doesn't have to stop anything. To me the resurgence of Chappelle show is a whole different thing than his stand-up and aren't really related.

If you're tired of Dave, just stop. I know I'm not bugging. If a rapper released a string of whack albums I'd stop listening. If a show had a season of wack EPS I'm done. I said The Walking Dead was lame enough. I wasn't in the thread every time news about a new season came up.

I’m just discussing the topic here since it came up. I don’t really anticipate Chappelle’s stuff anymore honestly, and wouldn’t be geeked for a Chappelle’s Show reboot.

I think you might be misinterpreting what I’m saying to mean that he should step away because I don’t like it. Personally I don’t care what he does, I’m just not sure the message he’s trying to send delivers the way it used to.

But again, this isn’t really important to me. I’m not asking Dave to cater to me. Anytime an artist I’m a fan of veers off too far from me, I have no problem moving on. There’s more content than ever in this era, no one needs to be tethered to one artist.

You'd have to ask the ppl enjoying his stand up if it is. Not just assume it isn't cuz it's not doing that for you.

I've seen more ppl complain online but it's just about topics and his position.

Opinions are like *******s, everyone has one and they all stink.

Like I said, just adding perspective to an ongoing discussion. All opinions are welcome. Agreeing to disagree is always a reasonable conclusion.

Have a good Thursday.:emoji_call_me:

One time my friend said "opinions are like *******s" to his grandpap and his grandpap said "yeah and mine's the biggest!"

I think Marc is a bright guy but he's reaching. I think Dave actually did give a clear answer, he mentiones in the special specifics and he mentioned how he realized how quickly and hallow a stance can be once you have it against a nation-state in the context of entertainment and integrity.

Dave taking a stance against a head of state (MBS) when you are yourself apart of a system that has itself profited and benefited from a nation that has sanctioned the killing of leaders and innocents ( Palestinian journalist example ect..) is hypocritical, I think that was Dave's point.

If Dave did a show at the white house for Trump and his people, with a maga-approved set of topics, you guys would give it the thumbs up because they are ****** like everybody else?
