DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - The Penguin out 9/19 then every Sunday on MAX

all jokes aside, I could really see a low budget Static Shock film

but in regards to DC, outside of John Stewart, Cyborg is probably the most famous and I think some underestimate his popularity from being part of the Teen Titans, granted this is a different New 52 version but too many kids out there who knows him not to capitalize on the character

it''s all about the writing and directing in the end anyways

That's the thing...how many black superheroes in DC comics( comics in general) are that compelling? John Stewart?

Black Panther ( It's Marvel I know but for the sake of this conversation) is the only one that I really care about...that's it
I'd watch a green lantern movie based on John Stewart.

There's a fair amount from both publishers. Obviously nothing compared to the overall number of comic book superheroes in general. I never cared about Tanya Spears until this current Deathstroke run by Priest. Christopher Priest helped elevate Black Panther with his defining run of T'Challa. Jeff Lemire is about to start a new book with a team led by Mr. Terrific, which I'll read just because of Lemire. Marvel's finally bringing Blade back (and Johnny Blaze) in a new team-up. It comes down to the creative teams and if they make a good story.

Side note: Still waiting on DC to reprint the original Static run and finish reprinting Icon. :smh:

BP is important for some pretty obvious reasons.. but before seeing that trailer and without giving it much thought, I would have said spawn

But really, the new black young lady IM and BP have the possibility to get through to a lot of idiots or expose em

I still care about spawn a ton and think it can be compelling.. john Stewart could be compelling if done right and you tackle some issues, would rather Martian man hunter dealing with the ills of our society

Im a Cyborg fan, but i honestly think he would be better with a show on CW like Flash, Green Arrow & Supergirl. I just don't see a lot of people supporting his movie. Just look at his numbers for Cyborg Rebirth. Doesn't seem like a lot of people are supporting that.

Black Panther works because a lot of the black community will support it off name alone. You will have the comic book fans sitting next to the "woke" community sitting next to the people that are a mixture of both.

Luke Cage season 1 did really good on Netflix & there seems to be a nice amount of hype for the Black Lightning show that's suppose to come out so I don't see why Cyborg couldn't flourish in that lane.

Cyborg is going to look worst than Inhumans with a tv budget so that's probably out of the question.

Nah.. cyborg should have been a victim in the JL movie like the JL war movie..

Then have a teen titan movie.. but then should have had the batman solo and introduced Robin or could have gone older Robin who could then turn nightwing quicker and eventually do Damian

That's depressing. That used to be one of my shows back then.

On a lighter note. These people are quick. Someone already drew up a mustache Supes. :lol (They better have BTS mustache clips on the Blu-ray.)

Oh I've done this discussion and rant several times. Many in here (for both companies).

Problem with DC is they barely ever tried and/or embraced it. They settled for Stewart as a backup GL with no plans of ever making him the main GL so he lacks that uniqueness. Black Lightning wasn't pushed and issues with the creator stalled him from ever being A-list.

Then the only other black hero associated with them is Static and they don't even own the character.

My bigger issue is back in 2010 they knew they were doing the New 52 and revamping the JL since that team has no main black hero and is a sausagefest so instead of creating somebody new or maybe revamping an obscure character they just plucked Cyborg off the Titans and said heçs a founding member with no history of being a solo hero :smh:
