yah I just can't do the visit the store every wednesday thing, it all adds up too

any recommendations for recent TPBs that are good reading?

i've heard good things about War of Jokes & Riddles by Tom King so that's probably my next pick, actually seems like anything Tom King Batman seems good right now so I might just pick up the first 3 volumes too

I love Tom King, but I'm not the biggest fan of his Batman. (Buy the new hardcover for The Vision if you haven't bought it!) I was liking Detective a lot until they started turning the homie Tim into Red Hood lite.

Deathstroke, Aquaman, Hal Jordan and the GLC, and Action Comics have prob been my favorite DC ongoings. If you liked Snyder and Capullo's Batman run, def get Metal. It's going to be a looooong time until Doomsday Clock comes out in trade. They just announced a delay. New Super-Man with the Justice League of China is low key pretty good. Same with the Flintstones, believe it or not.

Did you watch Avengers films after IM2, IM3? Are you not going to watch IM4 if it comes out again?

As I said, at this point there are sources where you can see it for free and in good quality so you aren't even spending $$$ on it.

But for your analogy to be accurate, your friend would ask you for money the third time, you'd say no but then would never shut up about talking ish over it ever again except you'd keep talking about how he never even paid you the third time for the money you never lent him.

they really are doing a disservice to that character by implying it was over a dude

DC released a new slate last year and there's been smaller announcements on upcoming projects. There was a shake-up in the studio and Jon Berg is gone. Zack Snyder is gone. They brought an executive producer from New Line who works with James Wan to be the president of the new DC Films with Geoff Johns as an advisor (for the comic knowledge, I'm assuming). It looks like (hopefully, fingers crossed) they are actually going to have a separate division for DC to make their movies.

The slate has Aquaman, Shazam, Suicide Squad 2, Batman, Nightwing, Justice League Dark, Batgirl, Green Lantern Corps, Flashpoint, and Wonder Woman 2. Then there was an announcement that Gareth Evans is in the works to make a Deathstroke movie. Then Michael Bay for Lobo. There's strong hints that a Superman sequel will be made too.

I don't want to count my chickens before they hatch, but the future looks more promising with Wan on Aquaman, Patty coming back for WW2, Gavin O'Connor on SS2, Matt Reeves is perfecting his Batman script and wants to start production by the end of the year, and the studio's actually turned down pitches instead of rushing any and everything out. (Like that wack JLD pitch that was turned down with emo Zatanna.) Only thing I'm concerned about is Joss' Batgirl. They can go ahead and replace that with something else. Maybe this guy.

It sounds like he wants to do it and the studio wants him. If there's any character who doesn't need any type of deep narrative or thought provoking dialog and just good ol' fashion action and entertainment, it's The Main Man.

Transformers actually has a pretty expansive lore. The movies could've def used way more depth. I didn't like either of those franchises. I barely like anything Bay has done. But I think Lobo fits his sensibilities. Like Shamamalamalon with Split.
