From Gillie's twitter for people wondering why he did what he did during the pregame. Take it how you want.

And this helps him how? Dude still hasn't learned that everytime he talks, he gets bumped down a few notches on the intelligence scale. How stupid do youhave to be? After seeing all the negative publicity and attention you're getting from the incident, what kind of moron then decides to pretend shoot allhis team mates in a pre-game warm-up, and then get surprised that the media picks up on it? Then as if he hasn't made himself look dumb enough already, hetrys to blame his team mates for his lack of class and common sense

Like EnEyeKayEe said, the rest of the team in the pic is laughing at him, not with him. They know whats coming next...

The dispute between Arenas and Crittenton began on the team plane during a popular card game between players called "Boo-ray." Crittenton lost roughly $1,100 to JaVale McGee, a Wizards center, in the game, according to a player who watched the game and who also spoke on condition of anonymity. Crittenton, already angry over a dispute over the game's rules, became irate when Arenas began needling him.

Their barbs escalated to a point where Arenas, smiling, said he would blow up Crittenton's car, according to two players on the flight, who requested anonymity. Crittenton replied that he would shoot Arenas in his surgically repaired knee.

Walking into the locker room two days after the dispute on the team plane, according to two witnesses, Arenas laid out the guns in Crittenton's locker. Two other teammates eventually sauntered in and, while Arenas was writing the note in front of Crittenton's cubicle, in walked Crittenton, according to their account.

Asking Arenas what he was doing, Arenas replied, "If you want to shoot me, I'd just thought I'd make it easy for you." As other teammates laughed, Crittenton crumpled up the paper, tossed one of Arenas's guns across the room, where it bounced in front of a team trainer, and said he didn't need any of Arenas' firearms because he had his own, according to the witness accounts.

Crittenton then drew his weapon, loaded the clip into the chamber and cocked the bar, the witnesses said.

Neither witness said the gun was ever pointed at Arenas, but both said Crittenton began singing as he held the gun.

Arenas began laughing, the witnesses said, telling Crittenton, "Look at that little shiny gun," as two other players slowly retreated to the training room.

They're lucky the gun wasn't loaded. That could of had a real bad ending.
Guns usually need the trigger to be pulled in order to go off.
Wait what? The force of throwing a gun can cause the firing pin in the gun to ignite the primer which is the same as pulling a trigger. You never heard of accidental discharges?
Yeah but most pistols now have a firing pin block/safety, which would prevent that. Not saying it doesn't happen, because of course it can, but it's not like people think in the movies where every gun that's ever dropped automatically fires.

Yea but we can agree accidents do happen. And it would've been bad if something like that were to happen.

If Gil receives no form of federal punishment watch he go overseas

Yeah I wasn't trying to argue against that, didn't mean to come across that way... it's still incredibly stupid and dangerous. Just another reasonwhy they shouldn't even be carrying guns without licenses or proper training.

Every time I see the pic, can't help but notice Jamison. Dude looks like he's got that nervous laugh going on while thinking'Alright, dude... it's all giggles right now, bro. I'm'a go chill over here now. You just keep on clowning.'

Caron Butler no where to be seen in that pic

Yes, the pic was funny...but EXTREMELY foolish. The whole Polin family was disgusted at the whole charade. I bet they were disappointed in Jamison ashe's seen cracking up, and he's one of the more respected guys in the league and a team captian.

Hopefully Stern comes down just as hard on the crooked refs in his league as he did Gil. Funny how he ignored that with all of the proof in front him.

Straight clown behavior. I wouldn't like to see him go to jail but he deserves anything that comes his way. Why the +%+# would you bring guns toa NBA Locker Room?

TMZ reporting that there's possible video of the whole thing and the police are trying to download it.

If that's the case, it might even get worse for GA + Critt, as, if their stories don't match the video, Stern might re-pick up the hammer and drop itharder now

Reading further, there's 50/50 shot that the US Attorney will file felony arrest warrants.

Arenas Gun Standoff -- Locker Room Video

The Xmas Eve gun standoff between Gilbert Arenas and teammate Javaris Crittenton may have been caught on tape by surveillance cameras, law enforcement sources tell TMZ.

We're told the Washington Wizards have told D.C. cops they have locker room surveillance video but are having trouble downloading it. The Geek Squad -- aka computer-savvy detectives -- are going to the Wizards organization today to help.

And get this -- a source connected with the investigation tells TMZ the Wizards have been "over cooperative" with cops -- as the source says, "almost as if they want Arenas to go down."

The source says "there is a better than 50/50 chance the U.S. Attorney will issue a felony arrest warrant against Arenas."

As for what caused the confrontation that allegedly triggered a gun standoff -- law enforcement tells TMZ it was all over a card game known as Bourré.

The NBA suspended Arenas indefinitely yesterday and, as we first reported, Arenas didn't have a license for the guns.

Honestly, the Wiz, from their statements and how they've been co-operating, as opposed to try and keep it as 'in house' as they can, clearly showsthey want to rid themselves of Arenas' $111M contract.

ninjahood:
wiz should've done a better job of keeping this under wraps....
THAT'S the lesson everyone needs to learn from this.

People shouldn't be playing around with guns like they're toys, tossing 'em around the room and whatnot.

People should keep their mouths shut when teammates/co-workers play around with guns and toss 'em around the room like they're little playtoys.

Some of you geeks in this thread to calm down. Nobody career is over, nor should either be thrown out the league for this indident. Critt will be hit hardsure enough.

This sucks for the Wizards I had thewse grabbing a 4th or 5th seed for the Playoffs. Last year they won 18 games, Abe Polin dies this season, and now this blkcloud? And to think they were on par with the Cavs just a few years ago. You'd think these guys be at ease with a steady coaching staff of Flip Saundersand Sam Cassell. It's time to blow it up though. Just hit the reset.

If that video gets out, and it don't match perfect with what they say......

I can bet Tiger is happy as hell with Gil right now.

anyways....not to beat a dead horse (well maybe), but it's downright foolish to defend Gilbert Arenas in any way, shape, or form. He has NO ONE to blamebut himself in this situation. I can't get over how stupid he was in this whole ordeal. If he SERIOUSLY wanted to get the guns out of his house, whydidn't he call the Fairfax County Police Department to either have an officer come by to get the heat, or tell them that he would be dropping them off atthe station? His whole excuse about getting them out of the crib due to his daughter was total BS. That was apparent the minute I heard him say that.

The fact that he didn't have an agent or anyone to give him solid advice about how to handle this situation is coming back to bite him in the behind. Thetweets he was sending and lack of remorse he was showing only made matters worse. It was pathetic to see him keep talking about the situation before he had alegal team slap some sense in to him and start writing his prepared statements. He kept shooting himself in the foot (no pun).

As I said in plenty of other posts, IMO he's played his last game in a Wizards uniform. He'll get a 2nd chance somewhere, but it won't be DC. Asfar as Critt, I'm REALLY disappointed in the kid. All last year, he would always say and do the right things off the court. He seemed like a hard worker, and someone who really wanted to make the most of what could be his last stop in the NBA. I was bummed out that his surgeries didn't go well and he washaving problems with his rehab. I kept tellimg myself that a guy like Critt with his work ethic will make a roster somewhere along the line if DC doesn'twork out. Since he cocked the hammer, he's done. Absolutely done. He will never set foot on a NBA hardwood again...and all over what? Gil beingfoolish....two careers pretty much ruined off of stupidity.

No one to blame but themselves. Hard to show pity....they both deserve whatever comes their way. I mean how hard is it to make good decisions on a dailybasis? These are not kids..they are grown men. Pathetic
