I've been going back and forth between whether I should lease or not.

I have an Altima now, and I'm getting rid of that soon. I plan on getting my hands on a 2013 whip (essentially a BMW, hopefully an Audi, Lexus is my last resort)

But on the other hand, I have great credit and I can always lease.. But do I really wanna get rid of a car that I OWN just to get a car that I might lease for 3 years? (Another thing is that I don't like the 10k mileage limit on leases...I roll dolo from state to state)

BUT THEN AGAIN
If I do end up financing a car, chances are that I'm gonna get tired of it after 3 years, just like I did with my Altima. I had that for 3 and a half years so far

I don't even know what to do at this point

I love the idea of having a new whip every 3 years
I don't like the mileage limit
And I don't plan on making any changes to my car other than tint and rims
And 9 times outta 10...if I finance, I'm gonna go with the 60 month term at minimum to drop dem payments

Can you even lease a used car?

I don't see you finding any 2013's brand new to lease

Can't lease a used car

My dilemma is whether I should Finance a 2013 semi luxury/luxury whip
Or lease a 2015 semi luxury/luxury whip

If I finance, id be doing a 60month term to lower the payments

Either way, id be getting rid of my car (which I fully own)

if u leasing, u don't wanna own.  so just get it ovah with any car that's cheapest

So I guess just weigh da options and the numbers and see what would cost less?

What about the situation with me getting rid of my car. Getting rid of an owned car to put towards a lease is kind of outlandish, no?

But then again, my car maybe only has about 4 good years left until it starts draining my pockets, so maybe I should get rid of it while I have the chance?

Idk man :lol :{

You been looking for advice so I'll give you my opinion regarding your specific situation.

First things first. Do you own your current car as in is it completely paid off?
If you in a 5 year finance well you still have a year and a half of payments to deal with.
You already tired of the car...how much more tired will you be in another 2 years?

If the car is fully paid off then only you can decide if your financial situation allows you to pick up car payments at this point in time.

The mileage situation is another factor you have to consider.
I expect to go over my miles but honestly I don't really care cause I'll be upgrading within the same dealership. They going to find a way to take care of that overage if they want my business again.
Then again, it's not like im going 10k miles over or something wild like that.
If you plan on cross country trips leasing may not be for you. Or you could always rent a car for your road trips (remember your lease notes are considerably less than what your finance would be).

I know long term it seems like you wasting more money but a car in NYC is already a waste of money anyways. Might as well stunt a little, the broads will buss it wide open papi.

If you building your 35 year life plan you should probably go with the finance. If you can appreciate a car for what it is (a ******* car) then go with the lease.
Dudes is mad wild talkin bout 210k savings for a home.

Do what feels right for you. Don't be afraid to treat yourself a little if you can afford to. Like I said before, there's people that pay a car note just to park their car in a garage and be able to say they live in Gramercy.

flyny flyny and why would it start draining your pockets? I have had my 08 Altima for almost 8 years with no major repairs. Reliable cars don't drain pockets.

He's not looking for a reliable car. He's looking for luxury.
He lives in the greatest city in the world with the best public transportation system in the world.
Owning a car is a luxury.

How you expect flyNY to stunt in his fur coat with a 9 yr old car?

@Beezy, I don't know :lol I'm honestly just trying to justify myself wanting to give this car up. I love it to death, I've had it for some time now, but I'm grown now and I'm ready to do some grown man things. I swear it's like a got the angel and devil on each shoulder telling me 2 opposite things. One telling me to get the lease, other telling me to keep my car and my money.

@Diego good looks fam
My current car is completely paid off. I was checking out some leases for a 5 series, and I notice that the value of the lease is roughly 22k for the 3 years. If I sell my car, I could get roughly 11k, and I plan on putting another 4k down on the lease off rip. Leaving the outstanding amount at $7,000 spread out 36 months, my payment would be roughly a little under $200, which is very manageable for me. My thing is that, after those 3 years, I'm assed out and have to start from scratch :lol

flyny flyny Yup start from scratch with no huge down payment on another lease and watch the payments jump in 3 years lol. See if you weren't in NY where space is limited I would just say keep the alti and lease a luxury whip.

I believe its best to not put any money down on a lease. Atleast thats what I have seen people say on here.

diego diego nobody cares about the stunting in leased luxury whips except for NY people and others that are faking it til they make it.

No real advantage to putting big money down on a lease. That's just liquid money that could go to that fur coat, pa. Swag needs to be turnt up to keep the yambs moist.
If you need your payments to be below a certain amount then maybe you should stick with the Altima.

Beezy - Went through your post history to see what contradictions I'll find before I engaged in a back and forth with you.
I just realized you a kid that was eagerly waiting for his W2s so you can get your tax refund.
Leasing is not for you, b.
Learn not to judge grown men for doing grown men things, that type of wisdom will be good for you.

Holla back.

waiting for a W2 makes me childish ? Tell that to all the grown men in there begging Superb for the day their refund will be posted to their account.

You're right, I am a kid making great money and smart financial decisions leasing isn't for me right now

Keep searching you won't find any contradictions in my post.

I might actually consider that

Might keep the Altima and settle for the 3. I could get my lease payments to be around $250 and I'll have 2 whips.

don't believe the stuff you read padawan.

If homie car is paid off I don't even know why he would trade it in.

I got one car that's paid off and the other I'm currently financing. I can't tell you how many times I've heard about how someone got into an accident or was having issues with their car and had to rent a car.

I don't need to rent a car for emergency if I have something paid off on deck for a rainy day.

If it's not paid off, I could see why you would want to trade it in.

Especially a *** import. Keep that on deck, b.

Good looks on the insight
One of my issues with having 2 whips is that the luxury car that I want is a sedan. And I already own a sedan. Why own 2 sedans, right? I might as well cop/lease the coupe?

2600 for 6 months... why you better at least be pushing a honda
haha quite true. I wanted a newer car. But the insurance rate turned me of. They haven't called me today but the manager called me back yesterday trying to say I lack integrity aka belittling me. So I said I'm not paying he said he's telling his GM, we might take legal actions but mostly don't. So I said go tell him. He hangs up in my face. His gm calls me back 3 times I never picked up. Im driving a beat up 2002 Honda civic right now. Not a good look for me especially being an engineer where everyone at my job drive BMWs and Audi's. But anyways I found a 09 Camry for 7300$.

lack integrity son is a car salesman tell him to suck a ****
i will in a month or two. He just mad cause I aint come up with the 10k, he's the manager. One day in the future I'll show up again. Just to see what he gotta say. Dude can go suck a **** though. I didn't wanna curse him off on the phone because I didn't want to provoke anything. Since I'm waiting for the situation to end
