So here's the schedule...

Allen is meeting with the Coaching staff right now (Hopefully firing them too)
The Players will have a final meeting with the coaching staff at 11:30
Bruce Allen PC at 12:30 to explain the move...

So no new HC PC today...

*DaComeUP...come on bro...besides the HC possibility elsewhere, you really don't understand?

STATEMENT FROM ******** OWNER DANIEL M. SNYDER

"This has been an extremely difficult season for our organization and for the fans. Bruce Allen spent many hours examining the football operations, and we are both determined to do whatever it takes to build a championship team. That process begins today.

"No one in the organization is satisfied with our record over the last two years, and I am sure that Jim would concur with that statement. It has been painful for him too. I certainly accept responsibility for mistakes that I have made. I am hopeful that our fans will accept my commitment and pledge to deliver a franchise that can compete in the NFC East every season.

"Finally, I am mindful that this is a tough day for Jim and his family, and I do want to wish him success in his next endeavor."

With Kubiak on for another year, and the Bears unlikely firing Lovie, is there any doubt that Shannahan won't be the HC?

Shannahan probably will go to Washington, but for what it's worth , the ******** aren't his first choice at all.

I found this hysterical
Best of Zorn: Faces
zornstaring.jpg

Here's something I feel comfortable saying: I will never, as long as I live, cover another coach who makes as many funny faces during his press conferences as Jim Zorn. Now, does the ability to make funny faces qualify one to serve as an NFL head coach? Heck no. But it sure did keep things interesting around ******** Park, and made me LOL on more than one occasion. Joe Gibbs never made me LOL. Then again, he went to the playoffs twice in four years.

Anyhow, I have no idea whether these are truly the Best of Zorn, but here are 14 faces I'll never forget.

Thank God!

I was telling my man...I wouldn't had a problem with him coming back until he tried that $+!*%#+ fake field goal against The Giants
smh.gif

Well I hope we have a good draft instead of picking up everyone in the Free Agency but I think Bruce Allen knows what he's doing

just heard the stat of all stats ... 7 coaches since 99 ... ... ... LMAO!

Can't win with no stability, you might go .500 or better but that is not a recipe for wining championships.

he just took advantage of a great opportunity that he was never really expecting to get. its like any one of us going into a job interview and being offered a much higher position than we originally applied for. if i was him i would have stayed in san diego and enjoyed their nice weather a little longer.

Yup, he kind of surprised everyone with the hot start even me...But he was way out of his league. I don't even think a lot of players respect him to behonest. One in particular Clinton Portis, and the messed up thing about that is a lot of players look to Clinton as a team leader

But if Mike Shanhan is the new coach I know he will demand respect and will get it or they will be gone!

TOP NEEDS
- O-line (Jesus Christ we need a whole new O-line)
- RB (Please get some speed or a change of pace back there)
- FS (LaRon can go back to SS
ohwell.gif
...As of know we have the #4 pick soERIC BERRY but that's a long shot with the O-line problem)

What makes it funny is that by only looking at his faces, I can't even imagine what he was talking about. I doubt it had anything to do with football. Ialways thought he was too wordy as a head coach, dude would ramble on and just get into nonsensical stuff. Funny guy, though.

"Maroon and black?"- Zorn on being asked the teams' colors.

As Jason Reid said, "He's been fired since week 3."

Worst kept secret in football.

I'm also hearing that the WHOLE FO and coaching staff is going to be axed. I feel bad for a lot of the people in the FO like the secretaries etc...but Ihave no problems with everyone else being fired.

When Shanahan comes in, he will be bringing in guys who HE selects. There are no holdovers from the Gibbs era, and no playing favorites because someone hasbeen associated with the franchise for many years....that is a step in the right direction.

I guess you truely have to hit rock bottom before you understand how to rise up. This 4-12 season was great, because the team/franchise failures FINALLYresonated with Dan Snyder.

No surprise there, he did the same exact thing last year only to hire a few of the people back later on.

******** fans, do any of you like Dan Snyder? NO SHOTS obviously coming from a Browns fan...

I personally think dude is WAY too involved for an owner as far as football/personnel decisions go much like Al Davis and Jerry Jones.

I'm impartial to him....I appreciate that he will spend $ in an attempt to win, but obviously his plan hasn't worked....

supposedly he said he's going to take a backseat to Bruce Allen. I hope he's good on his word. He was way too meddlesome, and his ego got in the wayof keeping a good coach (Schottenheimer) around when he could have built something special in DC. It's been the same story since he took over in 99'. I think this 4-12 season really opened his eyes. The Zorn debacle was proof that the current regime (Cerrato and everyone else) had zero clue as to how toselect personnel etc....Again, we'll see if he's good on his word about being a little less "hands on." If he brings in Shanahan, there's no way he (MS) will put up with Snyder's meddeling etc....Shanahan is a STRONG personality, so Dan should just let him do his thing.

It's probably just the homer in me. I'm sure they'll throw more money at him. He already denied the move in an interview last week though.

You gotta feel bad for Jason Campbell in this type of situation.

Dude hasnt had a HC or OC for more than 2 years in a row since he started playing college ball, at least I think thats the case...

Tough for Zorn, was set up to fail from the get go. I hope he gets another HC gig somewhere, I think dude deserves another chance...

Clinton Portis is out celebrating all the news right now. Zorn out and Shanahan in, you know he's THRILLED.

Wikipedia already has Shanahan in as the ******** HC. I believe this section above is editable only to the people at Wikipedia too

Maybe we can take Campbell off the Skins hands before Shanny gets in town, no way he makes a trade with the Raiders. Then again I dont even know his contractstatus is he getting cut or what.

When Bruce Allen came aboard it was...

I feel bad for Campbell. Dude deserves another chance but I don't think that will happen.

I have a strange feeling he may since he's a restricted FA and I heard Allen say during his PC today that he doesn't think he's played his best football yet.

We'll see what MS thinks though.
