One of the biggest Catch 22's a man can find himself in...is meeting the perfect woman who is already in a relationship but willing to cheat. If she cheats, it devalues your future with her. If she doesn't, you're pained internally watching her with the wrong (other) man. If you wait, chemistry may fade.

Saw her, wanted her, got her, lost her. Hope my pretty wings meets someone with more sense that treats her as she should be.

Nah, it's not that I can't commit now. It's more so, I woke up one day and realized I was okay with the idea of commitment. Ok, so maybe it's more so I have grown up and matured. With self awareness comes self reflection, and reflecting has made me realize that my immaturity has caused me to miss out on something real.

OP, what's the wrong time? What's going on in your life right now that you can't commit?

I don't see how you can think of someone as the perfect person for you if you haven't even spent time with them in a romantic context. That goes for those in situations where their "right person" is in a relationship. I think it takes dating to establish that someone is right for you. Sure, initial attraction right off the bat exists and I don't think the right person for me is someone I wasn't attracted to off the bat, but there is more to it than just that.

Ya that happens to us all. First step is to take responsibility, which is what you're doing. I don't think that there is a single right person, so you'll have other opportunities in the future. Learn from your mistakes.

oh so you're speaking about a missed opportunity, not one that's presently apparent?

, I'm sorry to hear about your loss.

So, do you think at this point if the right person came along you would not just be about something physical? Or do you think you would choose between career and relationship?

It's cool, I guess I have to push through the realizations. Self awareness is a helluva drug.

Sure. I've met 2 or 3 women I would marry in college but I was literally too busy smashing other fine broads are trying to pursue females in general and having a good time and mind you I've never seen myself actually falling in love and getting married.

Why could you never imagine that? Family scars?

I met this dime who was smart, funny, own crib, car, head on her shoulders and we agreed on alot of core issues and values. But I had 3 different chicks for everyday of the week, every borough in NY I had numbers to call to have a good time. This girl tho, she was something different, something I knew only came along once in a lifetime... I used to always tell her, you came along at the worse time. I was knee deep in doin dirt, and was NOT looking for nothing too serious. I know a good thing when I see one. Mrs. Right in the flesh...... The timing is solely up to you.

Every time is the wrong time if you're not ready for it. Relationships are hard...you gotta be ready for it.

But who's to say she was the right person? You don't truly know a girl until you date em for a min. So for all you know, you could've dodged a bullet.

This is a good point here. Dating can definitely be frustrating and draining, but without it, it's impossible to recognize compatibility. Fact of the matter is if you avoid dating someone who has potential because you have other plates spinning or aren't looking for a committed relationship at that moment, that's on you, not society's fault or a situational issue.
