If so RIP because it will only be a matter of time until other teams start doing the same thing to him. He better start working on that jumpshot because he got no footwork to be effective with the midrange game. You can't rely on isolation play forever and you can't rely on the ref to get you to the line(unless he start taking class from Derek Fisher or Paul Pierce)

Bostons defense was able to run that 2-3 because they realized Mo & Jamison weren't much of a threat by the way they were playing & Also Boston Defense is nasty and as we saw in the finals...Pretty good. Once Bron' is with teamed up with another superstar alongside him, you won't see that 2-3 anymore. The 2-3 is used in college more because coaches take their chances on how the other team shoots the 3 (Syracuse 2-3 Zone) and in the NBA it's very rare a team runs it since the pro guys are better jump shooters. So don't get your hopes up man, Bron' will be able to demolish a 2-3 zone once he has another legit star playing alongside him.

you cant compare boston's defense to other teams

teams usually do double or zone lebron but every player on the cavs can shoot jumpers so it is not as effective

however the strategy works in the playoffs cause the role players choke

another problem is that most teams are not as disciplined on offense and turn the ball over which leads to lebron fastbreaks all day
If lebron does not have 3 point shooters on his team  the zone would be very effective on him though.

if putting up 29, 8, 6 on 47% shooting is being stopped, then sure. but yes, those are "subpar" for lebron.

but he had a bad elbow. im sure if he had 2-3 weeks to keep playing on that elbow, he would have been fine.

his jumper is much improved. and it will improve next year. dude never stops improving ever since he entered the L.

but yes, boston only employs that D on lebron consistently. they only started doubling kobe around game 6/7. and tey really didn't double wade b/c they wanted him to score.

Surprise that other team didn't use that zone defense on Lebron. It also doesn't take a genius to predict what Lebron will do on offense. This guy is so predictable on offense. Block the driving lanes. Lebron can't shoot to save his life.

this post wouldn't exist if his teammates could hit a jumpshot, guard someone, or finish a layup. end of discussion. i'd like ANY team to try the zone on lebron next season and see whatll happen. Just because you're predictable doesnt mean you can be stopped
laugh.gif
... Good luck blocking the driving lanes. Boston was just a great defensive team

You say that like Kobe didn't shoot 6-24 in game 7 and didn't get bailed out or something.

Of course he didn't advance to the finals when what was supposed to be his #2 man in Antawn Jamison averaged 12 points on 42% shooting, 7 rebounds and 1 assist against the Celtics, whereas Kobe had all kinds of players to bail him out throughout the finals, starting with the guy who he robbed of his finals MVP and who averaged close to 19 on 48%, 12, 4 and 3. Not to mention Derek Fisher in game 3 and Artest in game 7.

It's the same story as last year. Both seasons LeBron and Kobe met the same teams in the playoffs with LeBron owning Kobe individually in both series and putting up better and more efficient numbers while Kobe gets the win due to a better supporting cast and superior coaching.

Of course what else is there to say for Lebron and his individual accomplishments right?

blah blah blah same old god damn teammates excuse.. people already forget how they were nearly unstoppable prior to the celtics series and how lebron went ghost and quit on his team the last two games of that series because he cant figure out Celtics defense, cant blame him tho..thats what happened if you got no jump shot and/or post moves..

Kobe being a better player also helps.
