White Guest Claims Another White Guest Struck Them with an ECV at Magic Kingdom Because of Racism

It seemed like just another Central Florida summer thunderstorm when guests at the Magic Kingdom sought shelter under an overhang at the theme park — a good place to hide from the rain. But tempers soon flared up in the close quarters.

Susan, 68, from Indiana, tried to maneuver her motorized wheelchair into the space, but she lost control and hit a woman, according to an Orange County Sheriff’s report released this month documenting the August 2 incident.

Susan apologized to the woman, and that seemed to be the end of the matter. But Donald, 45, from Clermont, said he was a victim too.

Donald confronted Susan and wanted her insurance information, the sheriff’s report said.
Susan refused.

“Susan told (a deputy) Donald was being rude to her and her family, and she didn’t want to talk to him. Susan advised she did not realize she hit Donald and believed she had only accidentally run into (the first woman) with her wheelchair,” said the sheriff’s report.

Donald was upset Susan apologized to the other woman but not to him.

“Donald told (the deputy) he thought Susan hit him intentionally. (The deputy) asked Donald why he thought Susan hit him intentionally, and he told (the deputy) it was because he believes Susan is racist,” the sheriff’s report said.

The deputy asked Donald why he believed Susan is racist. Donald said Susan had smirked at him.

On the sheriff’s report, Donald’s race is listed as white, and his place of birth is Hawaii. Susan is listed as white.

The deputy refused to share Susan’s insurance information, telling Donald that was going to be a matter for civil court.

The deputy interviewed the first woman whom Susan had run into. The woman said she didn’t see whether or not Susan hit Donald but believed the whole situation had been an accident.

“Based upon the verbal statements given to me, and the close quarter nature of the crowd of people they were surrounded by, I do not find probable cause to charge Susan with battery,” the deputy wrote in the incident report. “It should be noted Donald was unhappy with the results of my investigation and only seemed concerned with getting ‘insurance information.’”

dont think ive ever seen white on white crime labelled as a racist crime. gotta be a first for everything i guess

So yesterday, I attended the parks and what a disaster it was. People were complaining about how lighting lane was a 45 min wait compared to the 70 min ride. Restrooms had a line to get in, churro stands had about a 15-30 min wait. Adventure land, New Orleans Square and Adventure land was pretty much shoulder to shoulder when walking. I've been a pass holder for 11 years now and I've never seen it this crowded before. I get that its the spooky season with the holidays right around the corner but again never in my 11 years has it been this bad. People can't even enjoy the parks anymore.

that’s how i felt the last time i went. what’s the point of a reservation system whey you guy let everyone in?! their greed is just getting more and more obvious

I was there yesterday and today. Hopefully today is better. We ended up leaving the park at 730. Don’t think I’m ever coming again on a boogie bash day.

The reservation system is to help them gauge how many people are in the parks on any given day, not to help control population I think.

If they can see how many people are starting at what park then they can attempt to staff more “efficiently”, aka as minimal as needed it seems.

it’s pretty obvious they don’t give a **** about efficiency :lol

they wanna see as many people in that *** buying merch, food, genie+, lightning lane+. share holders wanna see lines wrapped all the way up the matterhorn

At what point will it be too much though? Safety concerns? stealing or just frustrated customers. I cant't even imagine for the 100th anniversary the chaos that it will bring.

Straight changed up Walts vision, smh. At least the words are still there to remind people.

benefits of the oogie boogie bash, half the night when strolling through DCA felt like a ghost town

at around 9pm, we got something to eat at the boardwalk pizza and the dining by paradise garden grill is empty

and rides are practical walk on

You have instilled fear for my trip in December lol

Just got back from Disneyland on Saturday.
Had a 3 day park hopper for Weds (the day we arrived) through Friday. Last time we went was November of 2017 so it had been some time but man, I agree w/ the above - reservation system in place but yet feels ever more crowded than pre-covid? Wasn't expecting that at all.

My kids are 4.5 and 7 so it was fine. We did the lightning lane for some stuff but overall feel like it lacked value - more a convienece thing for us than anything else. Downtown Disney is cool but from the side we stayed on (Marriott Courtyard) more of a walk.

Highlights:
Haunted Mansion for Halloween was cool. My son is a big Nightmare Before Christmas fan, so that was cool.
Pumpkin scavenger hunt was nice for the kids - they really enjoyed it.
Daughter did the Bippity Boppity boo makeover like a princess thing and throughoughly loved it. Not cheap, but for her to then be recognized amongst the other princesses she was in heaven.
Grave (?) cake or whatever? solid. Churros - always good. Beer in DCA, nice change up.

Hadn't been to DCA since it like opened back in the day, so it was cool. This was more my son's speed since he's into Spiderman etc. Can't believe how many rides (overall) broke down on Friday though. Even the regular Disney train :lol -- then the Spiderman WEB thing broke like 3 times, including the last time 9:15p while were near the front trying to get through it in order to see the fireworks. Didn't work out needless to say, but the experience of that thing was cool.

Also amazing to see a bunch of grown *** adults running to rides at the open. Strollers in tow. Peter Pan always has like a 35+ min wait it seems.

Anyway, we only did two days because a flat tire at 5:15am outside Tracy screwed our day pretty much, so we did downtown disney for food and walking around and couldn't get a reservation to use the last day of our pass for like Saturday AM. That aspect sucks.

What part of December are you going? If you haven't been during the holiday times, it's really pretty cool. I personally think the park looks better for X-mas than Halloween, etc.

We're headed down on 11th and 12th. Since our DL day is Sunday, we're basically preparing for a busy day.

But I've been to DL during the holidays years ago before I had kids lol. But it'll be the kids' first time going with all the holiday decorations, so I'm looking forward to seeing them enjoy their time.
