I do... I remember back in elementary school they forced us to learn it and write in cursive only during english class... 4th graders and up..

even the teacher wrote in cursive so if you didnt know it, you were SOL. does the school system today still teach cursive?

Writing in cursive is a lost art IMO. I'm glad I learned back in elementary and still write in cursive from time to time just to see if I still got it :lol. I worked for a charter school for like almost 3 year and notice that none of the teachers teaching their kids that though. such a shame

I went to private school K-5 and from what I recall it was cursive for everything. Stopped using it from 6th grade on (graduated high school in 2011).

I know how but I don't, I write in D'Nealian which I don't think is taught anymore either

Most of my capital letters are exact copies of the bit of cursive I learned somewhere in elementary school or strongly inspired by them. Don't think I can write full sentences in cursive though. I can only really recall the capital letters.

I only know how to write in cursive when its time put my signature down. However i agree with W W)taps its a lost art/skill. Schools in nyc still teach kids how to write in cursive from what i recall reading an article about nyc schools making it a mandatory skill students should learn in grade school.

i even knew how write in arabic when i was high school which was much harder for me, cause i was just taking basic classes at my mosque and being taught by the leaders and since i had real high school to finish. It's good to have these skills underbelt your, challenges your brain/mind to do things differently than the normal way.

One of my ****** going to state writes all his papers in cursive. I think it’s to make up for the fact that he spells like a 5th grader still. Seen some of his papers, **** look like the ******* Declaration of Independence

Yep. I only write in cursive. My handwriting is a bit trash though.

:evil::evil:

We were forced to learn it in the private elementary school I went to. I haven't used it outside of signatures since I got kicked out of there though :lol I still know how to use it due to those years.

i don't work in education, but i think the big thing right now is teaching kids/teenagers how to "code/program computer languages" i wish i had that when i was kid/teen growing up.

“Doctors Handwriting” checking in

I remember in elementary school during a parent teacher meeting. The teacher told my parents that I have “Doctors Handwriting”. I felt proud of myself. Not knowing it meant your handwriting is trash/ illegible.

This, plus learning a foreign language (Mandarin, Italian, German etc not so much Spanish which was big when I was coming up)

Kinda feels like learning coding or else

Had to learn writing in Block (Large letters 90 degree angles), then slant, then cursive.

Kids learning more from phones than school nowadays.

:lol

I know how to write in cursive but haven’t done it since middle school when I noticed that it was taking me longer to write notes in cursive than it does in regular print.

I learned d’nealian before cursive. It was like the precursor to cursive because you just add that hook to the end of each letter. Then we just connected the hooks of those letters to the next letter and BOOM! you’ve learned cursive :pimp:

i write in cursive better in pencil than i do in pen..its weird

i just use print tho

ALWAYS hated writing my last name in cursive with 2 ZZs back2back

Damn, I just thought that's how everyone was taught cursive.

Didn't know it was classified as a whole different font.
