Dressing Better Vol 2.0

I like these pants. Except for the brooch looking thing

anyone know a good place to look for coverage about men's fashion during these fashion weeks? I'm really only seeing womens clothing.

I posted this thread before, but man...some of the comments are quite harsh: http://www.styleforum.net/t/272980/the-terrible-fashion-blog-thread/315#post_6158378

I know some of the blogs posted aren't the best, to put it lightly. But coming from the blogger's point of view, it's about having fun or anything. I think anyone can critique, but it's a different story when you're in the driver seat and posting up the stuff yourself. And this is about style/fahsion after all, where almost everything is subjective, and not set in stone.
The comments are harsh, but some of those blogs are :x . Especially the one with the dude who thinks he is Kanye West Junior and the one named "Chinese Alpha Male"

FUJIFILM *****

Stupid autocorrect
:lol I was wondering myself.

Looks like he's been hanging out with Kanye too much...down to the slouchy t shirt :lol I hope his kid grows up to be a valued member of society and not a screw up like 99.9% of celebrity toddlers.

Very cool campaign by Suitsupply:

Wow. That's pretty corny in my eyes. I don't know much about dude and I think it's great to have variety in your style and be able to wear a lot of different looks but I swear I'd only see pics of him in suits, everything very yuppie-esque, even to the point of overdoing it. Now Kanye's around and he adopts his style? It's just clothing when it comes down to it and I have nothing against him but doing a 180 and pretty clearly adopting someone else's style like that? :x

Huh?  You're in a thread titled "Dressing Better" asking other people for fashion advice.  Isn't the whole point to learn and adopt what you like?

EDIT

just saw its scars posting. never sure if serious...

:lol

No, I mean I'm kind of serious but it's really not that big of a deal. Like I said, it's nothing against the guy, I don't know much about him aside from what I've seen in pictures and I don't think it's so much learning and adopting what you like but completely changing up your style due to someone else's influence is corny.

I guess I didn't realize based on some of the responses that dude is idolized for some reason (more than his style?). He could be a good dude, I don't know, I've just seen enough pics of him involuntarily to see a complete change in how he dresses after Kanye came into his life and it makes me go hmmm.

:lol at Chinese Alpha Male. He's harmless and unknown that when he posts, the whole board is making fun of him. The kid lives in Asia and blogs to practice his English. The principle behind the Alpha Male is that if you have the $$$ you flaunt it. If you go to these parts of the world, you would see affluent males in luxury brands, so imagine Gucci belt, Prada shirt, LV shoes, etc. The patterns/colors don't have to match, as long as it screams expensive.

There was a post about him saying he only buys Rolexes from world class malls so he can walk around to show off the Rolex shopping bag :lol

'Preciate the advice on the dress slacks gentleman. This information coupled with some tips from Google gives me a nice starting point before I start blindly running around town. I just got this new gig and it finally settled in that I had figuratively outgrown my dress clothes from years past >D . Time to take the "slouchiness" out my look and get fitted up. I plan on overhauling my wardrobe altogether but I'll start with the dressier pieces for now.

:lol can't stand people like that

It's a different state of mind/culture dude. I'm not even mad at that :lol

Today:

Edit: I finally caved into Instagram: http://instagram.com/wisithfrombkk

exactly,
In a lot of other countries the whole slim-fit thing has been around for ever. In most parts of America you can walk around in some fitted stuff from HM or Zara and people will think you are stylish, in many Asian countries, the middle east, and Europe, that is the norm. In many American cities you stand out if you wear a fitted suit...over there, people look for brands, and "expensive" stuff. In many countries ive visited the first question often asked is "what watch do you wear" and if I reply with something other than tag, rolex, rado, etc then Im looked down upon lol...its just a diff culture there...here on this thread ppl think they are stylin rockin a Timex with Jcrew bands in it lol...

totally diff culture as Wis pointed out..ive been exposed to it, so i understand it a lot better..
cant hate on it ..

I'm not talking about that kid or that culture Wis, let them do their thing! :lol

I meant more in the US it's kind of lame to wear all of the most baller pieces you own together just for props. There's no substance in the outfit, just an awful collage of brands

according to you. His peers probably see it differently, thats what im trying to say. I understand your point though, from what is considered on NT and most style conscious people on the internet a well put together outfit, color combos etc it is not ideal.

I understand you, man. But this in large is infused to the culture. It's like faking the funk to the max. Not limited to kids, but adults will do a 15 year payment plan so they can have a new luxury car to show off to their friends or buy a purse and pay it off in 3 years on the credit card.

I think this is where menswear and women's stuff differ significantly. At least we have brands that are relatively unknown to the public that has a high price to quality ratio. With women's stuff, it's all about the prestige of the brand and the appearance. I don't think there are women's version of Alden, and other brands with little to no marketing that are popular :lol

You pretty much have to market when it comes to women's clothing just because they have so many different options. Have you looked through Vogue or Harpers Bazaar lately? Count the number of ads compared to the number of actual literature :lol

Im not mad at dudes culture. Just found it weird that he would post the cost of his hotel and clothes etc.
:lol I looked through the blog and saw he copped a new C class coupe. That thing has got to be at least $50k (cars in other countries are MUCH more expensive than the states, and they have weird and weaker versions too). A new BMW M3 is around $100K in my homeland, which is next to where he lives. It's stunting for friends, but accruing mad debt, my friend.

:lol Women's clothing is a totally different beast, man. I stay away from it :lol They look good in anything...slim fitting, loose fitting, and like you mentioned earlier, in men's garb.

it's far more interesting than menswear to me. So I tend to follow that more than menswear designers. Been putting my little sister on game now she trying to be a "fashionista"

Anyone own any of them 15 dollar polos they sell at Target? I wanted to rack up on them for spring since I dont want to put to much money into clothes since it may not fit by winter.

My man, GREAT point with that second bit. I've never even really thought about that

Man, all females who like to dress up are 'fashionistas' or trying to work in fashion in some aspect :lol A lot switch their minds when they realize the pay is low and the hours are long.

There are some looks that I really like, but will probably seem incoherent to the ladies with keen eyes :lol
