Ehhh, from what I've seen from the 70s at least, there were a lot of misses. Huge lapels and shirt colors, bold patterns and polyester, flared pants.
It's all kind of cyclical and it also depends on the demographics you're looking at within that time period. I'm sure people in the 90s looked at previous decades fashion as ridiculous like we now view some of what was hot in the past.
That's true, but I was referring more to "standard" clothes rather than fashion, if that makes sense. I consider all the stuff you listed to be in the same realm as the rolled up pants/short suit pants, Yeezys, Louboutin spiked shoes, leather jeans, etc. My grandpa was an accountant, and based on his pictures what he wore to work, weddings, and other business/formal events back then could still be worn today
