gunit23, set up the tourny, you know my PSN.

I also hate the people who shoot from midfield off of kickoffs. I've surrendered 2-3 goals this way and countless corners.

The people who only use 5-star teams are a joke. These are the type of guys who think they're entitled to win every single match.

BTW, the demo for PES 2010 is out on the UK PS store.

^You're looking way to deep into it. I'll always just match whatever star level my opponent is but playing with a four or five star team is undoubtedlymore fun than playing with a 2.5 star team.

Seriously though, all this *****ing an moaning about Barca and Man U needs to stop. It's just not that serious, I routinely beat people who played withBarca and Man U in 09, for me the squads just aren't unbeatable. I understand the frustration but come guys lets get over it.

Nah, I dont mean it like that. I also do what you do, I'll match my opponents level but its annoying when you want to use a 2-3 star team butthe other person will only play with a 5-star team.

My problem with only selecting Barca and Man Utd is that there is almost no skill involved when using those teams. Just kick it out to Messi/Henry/Eto'o orRonaldo/Rooney and have them run in easily for a goal. I beat Barca/Man Utd. opponents most of the time but its annoying when 80% of the people only selecteither one of them.

Something that EA better fix is awarding Wins and loses when someone "disconnects" or quits. I've been quit on at least 50 times (this is a lowestimate) but I never get credited with the win. The worst is when you've won the game and they're showing highlights of the goals and then youropponent "disconnects"

Anybody else having problems finding FIFA 10 in the PSN store? Wasn't the demo supposed to drop today?

Downloading the PES demo right now.
I'm not even going to get into the subject of Barca & Man U especially Manchester...

PS3 ONLY!!!
About the tourney,it will be either two round of 8's or one round of 8 depending on sign-up's

So I'm curious how many goals you guys have scored off free kicks?

I consider myself pretty good at the game.... not amazing, but I play on the hardest setting and win the majority of my games still. I don't play a ton ofonline because I hate the lag and the cheesers... but the few human opponents I've played i've done pretty well against also.

However - I am still yet to get the achievement of scoring off a free kick.... and i've tried everything I can think of to get one - i'll have 3 bounceoff the cross bar or miss by inches every single game.. i've tried bending them in from way off target, smoking them past the keeper with the hard kickoption.. i've tried switching kickers... I don't know, it seems like i'm getting great shots on goal with it most of the time, just super unlucky.

I've probably played like 200-250 games and still don't have one... and it's extremely annoying to me.

I've never looked online to see how other people do with this, but I'm just curious if you guys struggle with it as much as me?

It's really the only weak part of my game I can think of... i play a pretty sim-like style of game, don't do cheeser stuff at all... so maybethat's the problem?

any advice? input?

I played both demos this morning.

PES.. nice graphics. realistic character models, especially the likes of Ibrahimovic, Xavi, Senna, etc. They failed on some too, noteably Daniele De Rossi.Theres a lack of fluidity of the gameplay and I find it easy to score. I dont know if its Valdes but he couldn't handle the power of the shots, he justkept coughing them up for rebounds. My brother didn't like it but I didn't think it was bad. Its something I'd get on sale/clearance.

Fifa, I play 09 most of the time so it was hard to adjust to the demo. Defenders have been improved. Physical players like John Terry are no longer liabilitiesdue to their lack of pace because they knock offensive players off the ball. When you do long through balls, theres a delay in the striker's ability tocontrol the ball so theres a window for recovery. Shooting physics are different so it'll take time to master that. Dribbling to the side of the keeper andslotting it into goal is possible again. It was the staple way to score in 08 so it was nearly impossible in 09 (it would hit side netting) but now itspossible again. I liked the ability to take a quick free kick. This will come in handy during online clubs. Short passing is nice. The real luster of the Fifafranchise is the online game modes which you can't taste in a demo.

Tevez I feel you completely

Craftsy I consider myself to very good at free kicks, probably my favorite part about the game but it sounds like you've just been unlucky if you'regetting them on target but have never scored.

This might help too but a lot of people aren't aware that the left stick can be moved in any direction left or right to apply spin. Most people think tojust hold it all the way to the left or right but more often than not, you gotta angle upwards too to get that downward whipping action on the actual kick. IfI'm kicking with a right footed player from the left side of the pitch I'll generally apply spin by holding it 45 degrees to the left instead of 90.

Other than that you gotta just always remember to be easy on shot power and you absolutely gotta know who you're kickin with. Not so much their free kickstats but you actually gotta know how the players ball is gonna curve. Pirlo's ball curves differently than Ronaldinho's even though they both have 90+curve. Also don't be afraid to try out guys with less than impressive free kicking ability. There are a lot of guys with curve ratings in the 80's andless that put pretty menacing spin on the ball with more velocity than any of the big name free kick takers.

thanks for the advice guys... can't say any of it sounds like a revelation, i feel like i'm doing most of the stuff you recommend already.. but i'mtaking it all in, trying to work it out.

i'll let you know how it goes...

yeah thats the comment i was trying to make..i dont mind playing a 5 star team if the other person is playing with some strategy atleast...playing route one football everytime and just hoping to break through once or twice makes for a really boring game...i would rather lose to someonewho's playing the right way than win against someone playing like that...thats the reason i usually back out until i find someone whos playing with a teamother than Real Madrid, Barca and Man Utd because normally those games aren't fun

I don't understand why the developers can't fix this somehow... i mean, how often do you see guys break free and gone behind a back linelike they do with these teams in Fifa? You'll hardly ever see a breakaway goal like the ones you do in Fifa in a real soccer match between good teams... imean, that back line of defense should be nearly impossible to break through except every once in a blue moon.

I wish they'd just force you to play the right way

Well if the actual game is anything like the demo, FIFA 10 defences should be more solid which should reduce the amount of breakaways in the game.

I played the PES 2010 demo for about 10 minutes and I think that the game is pretty good. I like how the players' off-ball positioning is usually on pointand how the game speed is pretty slow and realistic. I dislike how the ball still appears to be on a cable where 99% of the passes you make are accurate. Iprefer FIFA's "sloppiness" where passes are routinely mis-played, bounces off of one of your players or the ball rolls out of bounds before yourplayer can get to it.

I'll still get FIFA though instead of PES this year.
