Govt. Flooded market with the money from the bailout plan. This will only last so long and as a country, we cannot rely on plans like this to bail us out.This bail will only be temporary and inflation will rise higher then ever after. Thats from an economist / accountant view

Plus people adapted to the high gas prices by taking public transportation, there fore less drivers. Many people have continued their new routine riding publictransportation.

Or it has to do with the collapse of the world economy and the demand for oil resources are going down.
