or the tobaccy..sucking in can cause your stitches to pop. so no drinking out of a straw either.

i think i ate shrooms the night after i had em removed lol. my boys were blowing me shotguns since i couldnt smoke.
that is DEDICATION to your habit right there.  I'm not homophobic by any means but aint none of my boys ever gonna shotgun me a hit.  Thats just a bit too close for comfort.

Yup there going to put the IV in me

So it seems like this is different for everybody

so far ive been lucky mines came in when i was like 18 and im 24 now. they grew in perfect and the dentist said as long as i keep them clean and they dont cause any pain or discomfort its no need to remove them.

RIP

i just got mine taken out yesterday. not too bad gettin em out one by one

i took one on the other side about last year. the crappy part for me is post surgical. i gotta change the gauze every 30 minutes and ice on and off every 10 minutes.

people are exaggerating in here. i got 4 teeth removed in december, and it doesn't hurt at all. except for when something cold touches your socket.
I got a script of vicodin, and sold em to my boys. advil works fine

Here's my story,

I had four that were comin in but they were growin in on an angle. They weren't botherin me but they wanted to remove em before they grew in and messed the roots to my molars up. They gave me this Viagra lookin pill that was gon pre-sedate me 30min before my appt (I opted to get put to sleep) so I take the pill then me and moms hop in the wheel to the office. I get 3/4 there and then all the numbers on the addresses started flippin and I got dizzy, next thing I know I'm gettin dragged out the car and kneed in my butt up the steps by mom dukes
laugh.gif
When I hop in the chair, they tell me that the needle is gon hurt a little, I feel a poke, say "Ow" and I'm out like a light.

After that, all I remember was feelin like my jaw was swollen while I was gettin thrown in the car, after that, I woke up to Seinfield, changed gauzes, back to sleep, woke up to Fraizer, repeat. When I finally actually "came to" I was lookin round the house like I never been there before
laugh.gif
I was in so much pain. After 3 days I started pullin the stitches out tho they disolved. By day 4 I was eatin steak
pimp.gif

I got all 4 removed at the same time. I was put to sleep while they did it. I had some pain the day after and I would just take the pain medicine and fall asleep so I wouldn't have to deal with it. It doesn't hurt too much longer than a day or two but it's just a pain in the #%! not being able to eat anything other than applesauce, yogurt, mashed potatoes and stuff like that for about a week. The hydrocodone or whatever it was that they gave me made me nauseous every time I took it.

You'll be all right.

man, its not like we are on some scare tactic kinda BS.  Its been mentioned countless times that DIFFERENT PEOPLE REACT DIFFERENTLY AND HAVE DIFFERENT EXPERIENCES.

Getting mine removed was easily the most painful medical related experience in my almost 30 years of living.  I had appendicitis a couple years back and it doesnt even come close to the pain I experienced after taking my wisdom teeth out.  Hell, when I had appendicitis I drove myself to the ER, got admitted, went into surgery that night, woke up the next morning and drove myself home from the hospital (stopping by Mickey D's on the way to grab some lunch).  I didnt even need the painkillers they gave me for that surgery, I just went home, told my boss that my doc told me to take a week off of work, smoked a bowl and played PS3 for the next 7 days.  It was probably one of the best weeks in recent memory.  Getting paid to sit at home and get high and play video games (being on salary ftw) is one of the best feelings in the world, but i digress.

My surgery was amazing.  Had all four out and was eating mac and cheese with mashed potatoes 5 hours later.  Didn't take any medication except an over the counter pain relief pill before I went in.  I was put to sleep during the process though.

well it all depends on how your wisdoms grow in. some times the come ins straight, other times the come in crooked. (which tends to be the more painful)
I remember my boy got his out right around the same time as mine. He showed me the xray of his mouth..looked like a Predators mouth.

All of mine were impacted and it wasn't bad at all.

Painkillers, Mom making me milkshakes while I play video games and milk the pain while sitting on my +*@ all day.

Hurts a little bit and you'll be swollen but mine definitely wasn't as bad as everyone else is saying.

Similar, but I had to take the meds after. They started to hurt like a @**%% a couple hours after the surgery. But I was eating the same day and didn't have much swelling. I know people who looked like chipmunks after though.

I had 2 pulled when I was on break from work a couple years go. Went pack to work and really didn't bother me. Just remember to take pain killers BEFORE you get them pulled so it can start working and be in full affect when the numbness wears off.

I got mine out 2 years ago...MAKE SURE YOU GET THAT GENERAL ANESTHESIA!!! The last thing I remember was talking to the surgeon about track and field and waking up 30 minutes later loopy as hell. I didn't have too much discomfort other than a sore jaw for 2 days or so. It was smooties and soup for that time period. Just be careful of getting things stuck in the hole where the tooth was. It's a pain in the ++$ trying to get a grain of rice or something along those lines out of the place where your wisdom teeth used to be. You'll be fine...but again...get general anesthesia.

in my case i had a tooth that was hell getting out, it took an hour to get it out.

had all 4 of mines removed a few yrs ago and I was back in work 2 days later. Some people heal differently than others.

I had all four taken out a while back. I stayed off any painkillers for 2 days, but after that the discomfort was way too much to handle without meds. My mouth was sore as hell, but during the procedure I felt nothing cause I was put to sleep. The pain of my root canal was unlike anything I've ever experienced in my life though.

Spring Break/Getting Laid or Wisdom Teeth taken out ...

I got some decisions to make. My insurance with mom and pops is up in April.

my orthodontist had me take all of them out my junior year of high school. i had a group presentation in my english class the next day.

It was THE worst experience in my life. Had all 4 taken out, and one was already impacted. So for that one the doctor had to crush into pieces to take out.

So after I woke up, I felt all groggy and actually was smiling cause of the drugs. It was cool till I got home and that's when I threw up. Blood all over the place. My cheeks ballooned up and I was popping pain killers hourly.

Probably took about 2 weeks for a full recovery.
