We're ALL going to die at some point, but before that, something dictates where you go. With God, Heaven or Away from God, Hell.

According the (King James Version) Bible

First realize we are all sinners:

Romans 3:10 As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one.
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

(Sin is thought, words or actions. Anything that goes against what God would want. No one is perfect except Jesus Christ, so we are ALL sinners. Can you admit that? if yes keep reading)

Next realize there is a REAL penalty for sin:

Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.
Romans 6:23 for the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
(because our sin we deserve to die and go to hell and if we don't ask Jesus to save us that's exactly where we're going. Do you want to go to hell? if not keep reading)

Thirdly Know that Jesus paid for our sins:

Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
(Jesus' death and resurrection fulfill all the prophesy of the Messiah coming! Jesus' blood washes away our sin. Would you like to receive God's gift of eternal life? if yes keep reading)

It's not helping old ladies across the street, paying tithes, feeding the hungry, donating blood, or anything WE think is GOOD.

Ephesians 2:8-9
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast."

There's nothing WE can DO within our power to be SAVED. To be truly SAVED we must ACCEPT the GIFT of GOD, which is Jesus Christ. Believing in him that He came, lead a sinless life, and died for all the sins of mankind. But you an only be saved if you accept the gift and believe in Him.

Accept God's promise:
Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
(Whosoever is ANYBODY. If we call on Jesus He WILL hear us and if we mean it, He will come into our hearts)

If you're ready to accept Jesus then right now say a prayer! it can be this prayer or ANY PRAYER that you create asking God to come into your life and into your heart. **Dear God I know I am a sinner, but I want you in my life. I want to accept your gift of eternal life through your son Jesus Christ. I trust in what Jesus did on the cross and I believe that HIS blood will cleanse me! Jesus PLEASE remember me! Amen.**

"I am a sinner that's probably going to sin again . Lord forgive me . " singing voice *

I live by Romans 10:13..I have it tattooed across my knuckles and is a fabulous testimony of my faith..God bless!..

The heaven/hell concept is more of a scare tactic imo to keep people indoctrinated; it's a form of mind control. If all sin is equal, then that means fapping is just as sinful as murder and slapping someone in the back of their head is just as sinful as rape, right? >D I do believe there is an after life not just a heaven/hell. Hence, why Hindus believe in reincarnation, Catholics believe in purgatory, etc. If there truly is one God then why are many monotheistic religion so divisive about their beliefs, despite the fact that they believe/worship the same God, just by a different name. One can argue that each religion has plausible points and therefore you can't hold one religion in higher regard over another religion imo. For instance, I'd feel it be intolerant and offensive to tell someone, "Jesus is the right way and only way to access God." Religion is man made; God isn't.

How isn't "God" man made? Using your logic you can make an argument that God is man-made and simply a reflection of human fears, insecurities, traits and values. As there are many religions there have also been many Gods.

The concept/qualities of God can very well be man made to clarify. Also, indeed, there may be more than one God, according to some. My main point was how religious dogma can influence many people to be intolerant of other religions/ spiritual beliefs

Exactly, I figured this out when I was a teenager.

The Bible use to be just a book to me. Something that you had at least one of, and you kept it around the house "just because".

After some very serious events took place in my life, and seeing God work miracles in my life and around my life, the Bible is what it's suppose to be.

Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Having an Uncle who was one of those "Jesus Freaks" Who I always thought was weird, until one day I realized that he was mightly used by God, and that what he lived by was real, and powerful, I began to seek God on my own, and was amazed how God moved in my life, and changed my life and those who were around me could also feel the presence of God.

There are plenty of things I could say and scritpures I could pull up. But I love this website because it has a lot of Questions and Answer on it's website. And those pastors are more well versed and well spoke. A lot more than I am.. But I am more than willing to share my personal testimony to anyone who wants to know more about God. Just pm me.

I never understood why the argument about sin is so talked about.

There is sin and there are acts of charity which nullify sins, as god accepts all repentance.

Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah's Apostle said, "There is a (compulsory) Sadaqa (charity) to be given for every joint of the human body (as a sign of gratitude to Allah) every day the sun rises. To judge justly between two persons is regarded as Sadaqa, and to help a man concerning his riding animal by helping him to ride it or by lifting his luggage on to it, is also regarded as Sadaqa, and (saying) a good word is also Sadaqa, and every step taken on one's way to offer the compulsory prayer (in the mosque) is also Sadaqa and to remove a harmful thing from the way is also Sadaqa."

This is a hadith from the prophet muhammed. Done by a scholar who spent his whole life validating the sayings and making sure they are legitimate.

Instead of looking at it as sin, I guess I look at it in terms of energy. We really are a bunch of atoms wrapped in human flesh. Doing good deeds, charity, love, etc. fosters positive energy and doing bad deeds channels negative energy in our body. Over your life span, the amount of energy in our inner being accumulates and draws you closer to/ further away from the greatest form/ source of energy, God, and when our human body decays, our soul transfers to another realm/universe, as a form of energy possibly. The words that people often use to describe God remind me of energy: "indestructible, all-powerful, omnipresent", etc. If you've ever watched Dragon Ball Z, the more powerful beings, "super saiyans (sp?)," had the highest energy levels, coincidence? 8o I watched Zeitgeist and it got me thinking about possible mistranslations in the Bible e.g. "God's sun" vs "God's son." Maybe some people are really worshipping the sun in disguise but who knows.

I'm pretty sure Heaven is one really long crazy vivid dream that you will end up forgetting. Kinda like right now.

Does everyone get their ideal heaven? Because how heaven is typically portrayed in religious texts and by religious people sucks. I've heard people say you just spending eternity with squares worshipping GOd. That's just sounds like a rly long church to me which is hell.

Modern christianity has such a negative outlook on it's followers because it has largely been taken out of context and revised to suit the wills of rulers of men.

The bible is pretty much like if someone collected twitter and facebook conversations between believers of certain ideologies at the time and compiled them as one work of art. And continually revised them and omitted parts due to agendas.

I suggest you research the theology and history of paul and his impact on what became christianity as we know it today.

He took the philosophy of an exclusive cult and cultural identity and changed it on behalf of Jesus to extend to message to all. jews and gentiles. It's a tricky era of history and we obviously are still confused about it to this day,

:lol Uhh guys.. the question of an afterlife is a moot. It's not a valid question. You aren't going to have to deal with an afterlife, because "you" don't exist as a separate entity in the first place.

Referring to yourself as an "I" is a cultural convention, it has no inherent meaning. Think about it, the words "I" and "you" are just vocal utterances, no different from a sheep saying "baaah". In reality, there is no separate "you" from the rest of the world. We all exist in the same 'stream of intelligence', if you will (I'm just saying that because I can't think of a better way to put it), and create the world around 'us' simultaneously. If you explained this to a young child (I have) they would easily understand with no problems. The only reason so many people struggle to grasp it is because we've been conditioned differently by our parents, society, the government, etc to fear this big bad thing called 'death' and see ourselves as separate egos from the world.

I know this is NT so no one will read this, but I will post it anyways (only click if you have critical thinking ability):

Like I always said, unless the thought of boredom is stripped from us, I don't see how Heaven is enjoyable.
