GOAT Talk

Hey, Lionel Messi just lost in the World Cup final and has a 1-3 (33.3%) World Cup final winning record. That's lower than LeBron's 4-10/40% in the NBA finals that is always brought up by hater trolls.
Man, Messi sure did irreparable damage to his legacy by losing in the final. Now nobody will dream of calling him GOAT with such a final record.

This y'all's 🐐 aka fake king

LMAO

Who's the GOAT?

Planet Earth: "Jordan"

Which player is the closest to playing like Jordan according to the majority of people on Earth....Kobe or Lebron?

Bron stans: "LeBron"

What percentage of winning is higher, 4/10 or 5/7?

Bron stans: "Kobe only won 2 championships, so Bron's 4 > Kobe's 2"

😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣

I showed my lil home Mike in 93 finals, and he was blown away. Said he never knew about it. Hes 30, and knows basketball and coaches. I put into context this was his 3rd straight finals. 3peated. And then he did it again :lol

Literally NO ONE has a problem if you think Jordan is the GOAT.

I don’t see that to be true. Look at leavemeglazzies leavemeglazzies posts :lol. There are a segment of newer fans and LeBron fans that really believe Mike is overrated. It’s insane. It’s crept into the media too, by way of the internet talking points.

MJ is a lil overrated tho… When people start talking bout he’d avg 40ppg in this era or he’d have the same success…He’s still a GOAT but folks gotta chill.

I watched last dance like a night or 2 ago…His motivation behind this series was Jerry Krause loving Dan Majerle, man was tryna buss his ***

MJ at #1 ain't a problem, but he isn't that much better than Bron (career or peak) or Kareem (career) to me.

Expansion and illegal defense defined his era, but you play who's in front of you. The league is better than it's ever been, regardless of how boomers and Gen X views this high variance shooting era.

SGA is running the league…was pretty close to back to back…and is averaging 33 in the process. Damn near the same shot profile as Mike. And you and me both know SGA is not on that “level” of a prime Mike.

It’s not a stretch to think Mike could average close to 40 if he played today (he averaged 37 one year with no 3s). James Harden averaged 35 & 10, led a team to 65 wins and pushed the Steph-KD warriors to 7 games and their toughest challenge. We know Harden isn’t on Mikes level either.

Obviously, some things are different. But Mike is different. He really was THAT in the game of basketball. The numbers and eye tests show it.

Him and LeBrons careers almost overlapped. Some of the same great players Bron was going against, Mike played them too. Obviously at different stages, but he was busting their *** too. The talent argument discredits players of the past, and we shouldn’t do that. The 90s were known as the golden era in basketball for a reason and a long time…until the social media era started, and narratives became a thing.

I think Jordan really is the apex of basketball, but that doesn’t mean other players weren’t in the realm or near him. He just put everything together and really was a winners, winner. You gotta respect that.

Peak Mike is 87-98
Peak Bron is 09-18
I think Mike was the clearly better player at their peaks. I have Kareem as 2nd all time. Bron somewhere 3-5. Those guys are close.

They just had some moments and series where their playoff performances didn’t fully match up to their highest level of play. If you look back at Mike’s career….he got BETTER in the playoffs.

33-6-6 for his entire playoff career at 49% from the field as a guard. Then you put the moments together and the 3peats…and that is where the separation is for me. Contrary to new, modern takes….those guys he was playing against weren’t bums. Many of them considered the greatest players to ever play the game too.

The last 1:45 of the 98 finals is stuff you see in MOVIES. That’s almost unreal. To drop 45 out of your teams 89 points. Down 3. Get a quick layup. Get the steal immediately on the other end. And then hit a game winning shot (after crossing over Russel and making him touch the earth) to close out the series. **** like that is incredible. Almost a script.

Other great players have had moments similar to this level….but not like this. That’s the difference to me.

And I forgot that the year before, he also hit game winners in the finals against Utah.

Imagine if someone did some **** like this today. Just 3 finals in a row. People would be rightfully losing their minds. But this is downplayed now.

Kobe’s not a better winner either. Without Shaq he only has 2 rings.

You can’t count the ring if you wasn’t the FMVP for the GOAT discussions.

We not discussing side kicks

So Bird, Magic, Steph, Kareem got how many rings by this logic?

I tried to aviod this thread cuz I knew it was this type comments in here. :lol

Playing like Jordan doesn’t equate to 2nd greatest player ever.

Literally NO ONE has a problem if you think Jordan is the GOAT.Putting Kobe at number 2 is a no go,he’s literally not better than LeBron,Kareem,Magic,or Bird and doesn’t have the impact of Bill Russell.

You seem to not grasp these concepts, posting 100 laughing emojis don’t make what you say facts

We here another week cause Broisslow won’t let the argument die.
Is 5/7 greater than 4/10?

Show us that you know first grade math

SGA isnt running the league, chill out

He’s more Kobe than he is MJ IMO

2 back to back MVPs. A championship. Historic numbers we haven’t seen since Wilt. The point is, HES putting up Michael Jordan numbers in this day and age….and he’s a clearly lesser talent. You said it’s wild to think MJ could average close to 40, and have similar success.

All I’m saying is it isn’t that far fetched, considering what Shai is doing….right now.

Imagine Michael Jordan…

That 1993 Phoenix Suns team was great offensively, but possibly the worst defensive team ever to have made the finals.
You can post any and all Jordan statistical charts you want. NOTHING matches, let alone beats this:

LeBronAllCategories.jpg

And that's without context.
With context (LeBron doing this against a 73-9 team while coming back from being down 3-1 while Jordan doing it against a weak 90s competition), it only becomes even more impressive.

Who is the best team MJ played against in the finals?

This is a topic that Jordan stans avoid like a plague.
The answer is probably the 64-18 Sonics in 1996, a team clearly worse than the 2015-2018 Warriors, 2012-13/2013-14 Spurs and 2011-12 Thunder.

But one thing is 1000% sure: Whoever it is that was Jordan's toughest opponent in the finals, it is a team consisting of players that failed to win a championship in 1994 and 1995, the two years where they didn't have to face the Almighty Jordan in the finals. With the exception of 1992 Blazers/Clyde Drexler, who won in 1995 as Hakeem's sidekick after Hakeem already won in 1994.

Off the top of my head:

97 Jazz Team went 64-18
96 Sonics went 64-18
93 Suns had the best record or something

All the teams were elite, with HOF/All Star talent. These teams were all considered elite teams during the time, after the time…and only recently are people calling them “bums”. It isn’t like MJ had a let down against the 2011 Mavs or something.

He beat the great teams and great players of his era.

Definitely not calling them bums.

As I said before, you beat who's in front of you. But you have to be realistic when comparing the level of talent Bron has had to deal with.

The Bulls WERE the juggernaut so it doesn’t matter. It’s much harder to be the juggernaut and accomplish two 3-peats than what Bron has done hopping from super team to super team lol

6 years ago Jordan was already greater than Bron, and it’s still the same today. Bron’s die hard fans have no counter to this video below, just look at all the “reaction videos” that have been posted all over YouTube on this video below.
