GOING TO VEGAS IN A WEEK VOL: Help me with my experience...

I'll tell you what you should wear (damn well knowing I'll get ten posts saying so-and-so's buddy got in wearing such-and-such else): collared shirt or sweater (in colder months, it's not a bad move), dress pants or clean denim, dress shoes or clean sneakers. That will get you in to any club in Vegas, no questions asked.

In the end though, it's up to the individual bouncer. If you're in the GA line, it's a stricter code. Bottle service, they are a little more lenient. You might see people rocking v-neck tees in the club, but they're locals. Play it safe and have a good time. It's not worth the risk of waiting in line forever only to be denied because of your shoes. Dress like you want to be there, not just hoping to be there.

wild #$%^& halloween weekend.

Spent 3 nights in Las Vegas for my 32nd Halloween birthday.  I had a different experience than the typical NTer as I've traded the excessive fratboy drinking & overpriced bottle popping from my nightlife for the dinners/plays/shows, etc...  I just can't hang anymore. lol  The Cosmopolitan Hotel is an AMAZING hotel, unreal decor, stellar service, minimal casino feel & the $20 did get me upgraded to a 900sq feet suite w/ 2 baths, view of the Bellagio fountains, full kitchen with washer & dryer. Downside was $15 a day for wifi & the same fee to use the gym.

Trip Highlights:
Zumanity (Cirque du Soleil) - Wow, amazing show, great music & incredible bodies. Got picked to go on stage to striptease & got a lapdance from a female audience member from Texas. A lot of fun being in the spotlight!
Valley of Fire State Park - rented a convertible Cobra Mustang and took it out to the desert, beautiful sight, straight Americana, definitely going to Hoover Dam on the next trip
The Gun Store - fired a Dirty Harry .44 Magnum, shotgun & an AK-47, womanfriend conquered a Glock & CX Beretta.  Supreme customer service, affordable & an addictive rush. Get there early, line started to swell & heard the wait can be over 2 hrs!
Cosmopolitan Pool - we got very lucky to catch the last 2 days of the outdoor pool

Ehhh:
Marquee Nightclub - beautiful massive club, great music with tons of chics in skimpy costumes. However, an absolute ZOO! The baddest chics were with dates, the middle of the road was absolutely drunk.  My date kissed a couple of girls & got the # to a stripper from Sapphire.  Left after a couple hours & took the Mustang to Fremont St.
STK - hip steakhouse, nothing stellar, paying for the atmosphere
Bellagio buffet - good choices, nothing stellar

My recommendation:
There's so much more to Vegas than the advice in this thread, going clubbing & drinking like a frat boy is what gets tired. I wish I stayed a 4th night. Hoover Dam, another Cirque Du Soleil show, so much to do, we didn't even go out the last night despite the Sapphire stripper texting us for a good time. Vegas replaces Miami as my new Friday to Monday weekend trip destination, being NYCers we looked exotic, a lot of stares.  Very impressed with Las Vegas, well planned out city, easy going, great weather in October, didn't think I'd enjoy it this much, will be back to the Cosmo very soon.

Nacho they charge for in-room wifi now? When I stayed there in July it was free

Edit: Also, mind sharing details of the room? What did you book and then get upgraded to?

I'm taking my gf in March for her 21st and thinking about slipping a $50 to see what I can get

Vegas honestly hit me harder then expected. Alcohol is everywhere, women are a dime a dozen and the whole drinking in the street (I'm from NYC) definitely adds to the fun. My friends and I basically spent the entire trip- drinking, fornicating and eating spicy McChickens from Mcdonalds...

BTW- One of our friends has a history of not being so lucky with the females, so in a state of inebriation, he decided to call one of the call girls from the cards that are given in the street. The chick that came was the girl on the card- she met us at the pool entrance around 3am, saw 4 dudes and told us "I'll bang all 4 of you guys for $150!" . We said "no thanks" and went about our way, fast forward- my friend said "She was amazing, she had tricks!"

We were scared to call those #s, definitely expected a girl with no teeth & stab wounds.  I was upset I didn't get approached by a single $$@+@*.
.
Upgrade
It wasn't much of an upgrade in terms of price difference.  I had the 1 bedroom w/ premium room, upgraded to the suite which is 300 sq ft larger & worked well as it was 2 of us with tons of unnecessary luggage.

I think I'm done with Vegas for awhile, and also done with coke. My nose, body, and wallet are still not fully recovered and its been 4 days already.
