Alright I just watched this movie for a second time and I feel some type of way about this movie. Gotta get a few points off my chest. Will try to avoid any major spoilers

1. Both Affleck and Pike deserve Oscar nominations. Incredible performances

2. Did Desi rape Amy in the past? I was kinda confused on that. Also did that scene where Amy gets shoved by her husband actually happen or was it something she made up?

3. Amy's character reminded me of a former manipulative manager I used to have that would ruin your reputation if you didn't do exactly as she said. Straight gave me the chills

4. The ending was perfect for a sequel. I heard there are two books so maybe it gets a film sequel? If there is no sequel in my opinion that ending leaves me unsatisfied and unamused.

I don't think her husband ever got physical with her. Just something she made up to make him look bad.

She has 2 other books that are different stories from this one.

Amy did not get raped, Desi was just a creeper/obsessed after she left him. Scene where Amy gets shoved onto ground did not happen, she stated that the beginning of the diary was real (how they fell in love/met), but had to add some details to the plot to get Affleck's character arrested. Also Affleck stated he did want a child with Amy (which is why he got tested) when he was talking to his sister, but in Amy's diary, it said he did not want kids.

Definitely agree that something feels left out without a sequel.

Movie ha a lot of similarities to basic instinct.

Y'all didn't catch all the plot holes though? Best movie of the year, but the ending and plot holes left a sour taste

What plot holes? Only one I saw was not cleaning the blood off of her at the hospital.

Agreed about the ending, unless there is a sequel which it's looking like there is not one :smh:

I liked the ending. Guess i'm one of the few. Showed how he's stuck in a tough situation. It's not totally hopeless though. He just has to wait a while to get out of that marriage.
 
We do that in the Game of Thrones thread. It's so people who haven't seen it yet don't get spoiled when they scroll through general and a post under the thread title might reveal something. I got spoiled like that a few times.

She's still free ...

There were a few holes ... He accused her ... The other dude that was accused of raped accused her ... In a casino where there are thousands of camera's and in a investigation they can't track disi to his whereabouts? "Dumb" couple that had a made within minutes couldn't figure who she was but can describe her situation 100% and what really happen between her and disi back in school ... Dude seem like he was just as crazy ... Talking about I will never leave you again ...

Those where m biggest questions ...

The ending was a bit stupid and plays on something that is way less common now a days .. A couple staying together for the sake of their kid. 1. Kid us from disi since he busted before he was killed and 2. There's not enough unless is part of a bigger plot for a part 2.

who's nph? If that's Disi .. Then they should find out where exactly he abducted her and his movements that week to confirm her story before ruling it self defense .... She was accused and an official is doubting and questioning her story ... Is the FBI .. They should at least do a quick investigation.
