I hate when people broadcast things like this. Telling your friends and family is one thing but posting on a message board doesn't make sense. We can't physically stop you from doing something like that.

sometimes telling your friends and fam does nothing. i know its hard to believe but sometimes the ones you love the most really dont care.

maybe you just have to be in somebody who is suicidal's shoes to understand
and words can be stronger than actions so yes you can stop somebody from doing something just by showing that you care

It should never be an option, but with the holidays usually being a time where family comes together, imagine how much of a shock this will come as to them.

^ Yo, I know you might mean well with that statement following his heart but for OP, he's thinking it and considering it already. One little push like that might be the thing that'll push him over the edge. I don't think that's cool telling him it's an option at this point. If anything, he needs to take some time out and do his bid by thinking things through.
As for the OP, you need to chill out for a sec and think. You posted this on NT and look at all the strangers you've never met within this community trying to reach out and stop you from what you're considering to do. We all care for our own and if you do this to your family and friends, is that what you really want them to go through and see what you did to yourself? It's not worth it considering it, not even for a second. You gotta stay up and work through it. When you do get through the dark and rough times, let me tell you, it's a mad fulfilling feeling where it might push you through to doing the bigger and much better things in life. You obviously have an idea of what charity and outreach is...you need to do it yourself and with that, we, the world, will be on your side to push through and accomplish it together.
