to an extent yes.

however, if the money is in my bank account paypal can't take it out of bank account once the funds have successfully be transfered.

worst case scenario they file a fraudulent claim or chargeback and my paypal account is negative but the funds are in my bank account.   if this were to happen, i would just open a new bank account and make a new paypal and not use the paypal that's negative anymore unless paypal fixes it.

if i were to ship the item before the funds transfer, worst case scenario, the buyer files a chargeback right after i ship and then i'm out of the item i sold, and the money.

paypal isn't a bank nor a lending company. so if you don't pay back a negative paypal balance it has no impact on your credit whatsoever.  i owed paypal around $1,500 back in 04 due to getting frauded on 2 big transactions when i was very naive.  they threatened me, sent me to collections and all that good stuff, i had collections calling me every day and i would just tell them the most foul disrespectful things and to come find me eventually they gave up and 8 years later it's had no impact on my credit whatsoever.

i've been using the same current paypal account i have now since 05 and haven't had any problems as well.

it's time to ruin this guys college football career and his life as well.

FOR FUN

Sucks you got taken though what a scumbag he is.
OP I apologize, I was a bit harsh in saying you deserved it.  But I just think if you're going to ship some South Beaches (not some regular General Release), you'd do everything to make sure you're free and clear from scamming.  Good Luck, man.  Send da goonies for him
Na I deserved it.

Interesting, I always thought paypal might have some sort of impact on your credit score but I guess it doesntSo OP got fooled by the email? Homie didnt even log onto paypal before sending out the shoes. I hate to say it but you deserveD to be scammed. Nonetheless I hope you get your stuff back

^ Same here. Always thought they'd be able to hit your credit score. No wonder some many people try scamming with it.

Anyway, what's the update OP? We're you able to get in contact with FedEx and get the package stopped/reversed?

nope, paypal can lie to you and make all sorts of blank threats but if you don't pay a negative balance back not a damn thing will happen to you nor will it have any impact on your credit.

now i wouldn't recomend purpously making your account negative but if you were to ever be scammed from a fraudulent claim or chargeback by no means should you pay paypal back for something that's not your fault.

How were you thirsty for the money, but didn't even transfer it to your account before you shipped? There's no way in hell I'm shipping before that. I take the money out of my bank account before the person even receives the package. Paypals $500 limit per month btw<<<<

I dont trust paypal and will never use them again.  I was scammed buy a client.  I do flyers and print and design.  I did a huge order for a promoter....I mean over $3000 worth.
They filed a charge back.  I had documentation and everything and paypal still sided with the buyer.  Took a !+%%+*@@ of money from my paypal account.  Their seller protection sucks.

I Will never use paypal again.

Google checkout ftw.

Put my NT detective hat on. Deon Freeman from MI is apparently some sort of blue chip football recruit, but I do not see his name on the roster page for the Eastern Michigan football team so he either graduated, flunked out, or didn't make the team. Now Cherelle Beckom, don't know if he randomly chose that name and email just to cover his back or if he actually knows her, but she is probably his girlfriend or baby momma. She appears to be a beautician/ hair braider. You should get at her first and tell her someone named Deon Freeman is using her name to scan you and you are going to report her to the Dean (at least call the school and get some type of POC so you can make a credible threat)

But dude, it's one thing when they send a fake paypal email and make it APPEAR to be from support@paypal.com which we all know is where the payment notification emails come from, but from a FAKE paypal email address that doesn't even make sense?!

And as for Paypal and your account going negative, they do send it to collections.

Was the email in the spam folder?

Anytime someone ever tried that with me it always went to the spam folder...they even suggest I search "Pay pal" after I tell them I didn't get the payment.

Greed is the number one reason people get scammed though... being gullible or trusting is the second
