Guide to purchasing from ebay?

Paypal always drop the ball eventually..... ALWAYS pay from your credit card balance, not your bank account or paypal balance, so your credit card company can go to bat for you.

Maybe they can't do it anymore, but some sellers used to try to get around this by only accepting payment from your paypal balance, or a bank account.
If you see that, walk away.

as long as you pay the seller with paypal through ebay you are protected, do not pay directly to there paypal account because then you wont be protected.

read the seller's feedback and see what they are really selling and their service level.

i see people have top seller status icons but all they sold was tv cables and paperclips. also, the feedback will sometimes mention if the item description was accurate.

I definitely spend a ton of time on eBay.

Lucky for me my phone has an "app" for ebay.

So I don't have to log on a computer to bid..

Just remember..

DONT SEND IT AS A GIFT!

eBay is great for both buying and selling.

To find steals it's a little bit of luck, but mostly effort and time put forth in the searching.

Paypal and eBay have teamed up to make it safer for buyers as well. I've never had a problem that couldn't be resolved.

Stay away from sellers with no feedback selling crazy good kicks at cheap starting bids. More than likely they will take your money and close their account. Look at what a seller has sold in the past as well as the items they currently have for sale. Make your own judgement based on these couple things. You can always message the seller to kind of feel them out as to what type of person they are. If they seem shady just walk away.

Also READ and UNDERSTAND the terms of the sale. Don't jump at that BIN price of $10 for something cuz the shipping is prob $100+. I do this myself sometimes if the item is worth a good amount of money. This will save you fees but also give you a headache if the wrong people purchase. Of course you will always deal with some morons.

All in all eBay is a wonderful place. I've got a decent amount of my collection off eBay usually at decent/cheap prices.

Anyways enough bantering....

Go sign up for Paypal and eBay!!!!!
