I'm not talking about people running programs that let you download them either. Has anyone ever gotten in trouble with the law from downloading small amounts of music or movies or whatever it is or know anybody that has?

My roommate got a letter from Cox because he was torrenting Bill Withers records,  he was so shook

even though they weren't going to do anything.

I once got sent a notice for torrenting civilization 5. That's cuz I forgot to stop seeding it though. Didn't get sued or anything.

what is this illegal music you speak of?

all my music comes directly from the iTunes store.

10k songs is hardly a lot. I feel sorry for you

My internet service got disconnected for downloading 21 Jump Street.
What? Was it your ISP that disconnected you or was it The Man

I have a lot of music and movies and have never gotten in trouble. Might stop after hearing some of these stories

ISP. I was running a torrent and I was unaware that I was sharing.
Changed my settings and haven't had a problem since.
I don't think you'll get caught for just downloading.

I resettled my wireless signal and was procrastinating on putting a password back on the signal. Well my signal was open and someone downloaded some bands album and I got a letter in the mail from my internet provider stating that someone illegally downloaded said bands album using my connection and that the record company or whoever is/was planning on suing me. So I explained the situation to my ISP and immediately put a password back on to my router. I'm not gonna lie, I was shook cause I recalled that a judge ordered someone to pay back a record company 1 million dollars. And Im not trying to have that stress on my head especially for something that I didn't do. Nothing ever did come out of it.
