I heard that showings of Black Panther in Oakland had people standing and applauding near the beginning of the movie. Philosophically, I am against clapping at movies, where the creators or actors are not there; however, if I were to clap at a movie, it would have been Black Panther, if only for playing Too Short near the beginning.

Down here in my Central Californian World, most colonizers end up marrying other colonizers. One sees a few white guys marrying Latinas, who are "sufficiently" Anglicized. In some ways, it is like New Spain before its various revolutions. We have a radicalized caste system, especially outside of the urban areas, and occasionally, someone can marry up to a "purer" blood line.

But not so much this. This isn't always the case. Two people can genuinely fall in love with each other...and just happen to be a black man and a white woman.

There are many layers to this topic, but to your first point...alot of it subconscious. The majority of black men that believe they "prefer" another race of women over their own...usually have gotten there pathologically in a way they can't communicate. They have a very negative perception of black women based on a multitude of factors: mommy issues, media manipulation, societal influences, etc.

I mean we even have a sect of black men who literally hate black women. Tommy Sotomayor is someone who people actually follow and think like. I'm not sure you can identify a single other interracial dynamic where the men/women of a particular race are so vocal in their disdain about their own men/women.

For example...asian women/white men might be the closest thing to black men/white women as far the numbers go...but how often do you hear asian women completely ****ting on or expressing why they dislike asian men? I don't know who the Asian female equivalent to Tommy Sotomayor is. When white men date black women...I don't often hear them ****ting on white women.

I was dating a white chick for a couple of months myself. Wasnt really thinking about her race, i just genuinely liked her. Cant speak for anyone else but myself but i would date any race as long as I am attracted to them. I was pretty close-minded about dating other races but dating her opened me up.

We had a falling out because of her ex boyfriend issues(ex boyfriend cheated, she mentally wasnt over it) but if not for that it would have worked.

what I don't see a lot is Asian men with black women, I'm asian myself (Loation) dating and planning to marry my girlfriend who is black, we just moved to the middle of the country (OK) where I see not too many interracial relationships here. When I walk around the mall I get stares from people like "wth is going on here" like they never seen asian men with black women. Its just weird, feels like Im in the twlllight zone. Even back home WA I rarely see that type. My sister a black guy but we see that a lot there. Maybe is that asian "myth" is why most women don't date asian men? but ayy my woman's happy thats all that matters lol.
