Hinge Takeover >>> Tinder, Bumble Pof

I was more speaking in general based on what I've seen/hear first hand and what I see men and women post on social media. I've watched this trend morph over the past decade or so. From the struggle fly out with no money days to first date flyouts and baecations with people they barely know.

I don't think any of those things really matter especially his financial situation that logic is similar to it aint trickin if you got it. If I had to guess she was in a major city so the flight wasn't expensive. To me it's more cliche/corny not the whole don't spend money on women narrative.

People who don't have it emulate the people with disposable income. So it all looks the same on the front end.

Interesting perspective. Thanks for sharing. I don’t use social media (outside of NT if you consider that social media) so the whole first date flyout thing is a foreign concept to me (I imagine that is how that begins) so it’s hard to fathom. I think the demographic I generally find myself with would not be down for a first date fly out anyway but I wa unaware it was commonplace as we enter 2023. The “baecation” is a bit more reasonable depending how much you have talked prior to the first date, how many dates you’ve gone on before the trip, etc.

I guess we can agree to disagree on the financial situation not being of importance. Assuming you are flying them to your residence it will run at least $1K-$1500 for a full weekend (Friday night to Sunday afternoon) between the round trip ticket, meals, drinks and miscellaneous expenses. Meeting up a third party location where you have to travel and get a hotel room that’s $2500+ easy. That might be a lot to some people whereas it is a drop in the bucket to others. And as far as cliche/corny, I think it also depends on if you wanted to go there, if she Jedi mind tricked you into it, if you do this normally, etc.

And to your sentence - that is exactly why the financial situation matters. If you are doing this and do not have the disposable income to do it then you are beyond a simp. You are an imbecile and irresponsible.

I cannot believe it has come to this :smh:|l

You can fly someone out for a lot less than $1500

I wouldn't say it's common place but it happens more than you would think and people from all walks of life do it. When it comes to sex/companionship people make a lot of questionable decisions.

The whole not using social media but using NT/Forums is funny. NT is less than a shell of itself. Twitter is way more entertaining and informational. And you can use social media the same way as forums (Anonymously not posting yourself/life)

I feel like people just trying to justify their wasting of time on social media with this argument.

If using social media is a waste of time then so is NT/Forums. Stuff get reposted from one to the other.

It's more like when something is popular or gets a certain reputation the go against the grain/I'm above this mentality comes out.

Before social media certain people use to say they didn't watch TV but watched Netflix etc.

The last part of that sentence makes me less shocked about the first part.

Healthy & Wholesome...

Sounds similar to my old neighbours upstairs :smh:

Unbelievable the conditions someone people will tolerate/accept when it comes to relationships.

I just don’t understand it. Why do some women put up with that? She’s older by 7-10 years so I figure she’d most likely to stand up for herself. I hear the commotion and just head out instead of listening to her get slammed to the bedroom floor, **** is terrible. Pretty sure her next door neighbors moved as soon as the lease was up because of it.

She's on an HBO max show called the Sex Life of College girls. It's solid

Honest opinion, how y'all feel about a person who is disable? I got this like the other day, did some research, turns out she an actress too.

You're right there.

Social media is more mindless with the potential for endless scrolling but end of the day wasting time is wasting time.

Definitely best to move away from these situations if possible. Terrible for mental health.

But I think low self esteem is at the root of most of these toxic relationships.... On the female side anyway.

Dudes tend to be violent narcissists. Have these chicks in a stranglehold both literally and figuratively.

idk. Females be trying to have you 1 up after the next man.
I get the original question was an ice breaker. That date was to successful married man looking for one thing. If anything, as a suitor, there are quite a few red flags.
Part of it plays into out of town people being better dating wise. They're used to not getting anything so they over compensate in the other direction. Dudes with no game/personality over compensate with money. And all these dudes aren't smashing so it really throws the market off.

Washed and a cliché profile

Got hiking/tourist pictures too don't you?

Even though some chicks chase it...former military alone is gonna make some swipe left
Lol. I’m open to suggestions (for Bumble/Tinder). I’ve always hated reading essays, which pretty much is a testament to the other person’s failure in online dating.

On a forum based around consumerism in a thread based around dating apps. NT is full of deep thought provoking conversation

It's all dependent on what you're looking for. Location, Looks/pictures, and age plays more of a factor in your success anyway. Who you are/personality > what you do...think about how many women's profiles you see with career, educated, food, wine and traveling

You can go on reddit and see examples of what not to do. People post their profiles so they can be reviewed.

My upstairs neighbor beats on his girl and calls her “bro” and “my N”.

Sounds so disrespectful :smh:
Like domestic violence, or am I showing how washed I am and it means something else
Asked a gal what was her most memorable 1st date. She went on about some square flying her out to chicago for authentic Italian food. i’m like i got some digorno straight from safeway sicily
Naw you failing, Frescheta is where it's at. I use to rock with Digorno though, they have a lot of new options but can't mess with Frescheta. I won't lie when Digornio at Harris Teeter has buy two get one free then I am in.

sigh just showed how washed I am going on an on about some oven baked pizza.

I am sure it can be done for less than $1500 but I am assuming a direct flight bought < 7 days out costing at $500-$1000 then 4 meals plus drinks (2x brunch, 2x dinner, 2x drinks) and miscellaneous expenses being at least another $500-$1K. Sure you could do it cheaper but that’s how I arrived at that number.

I am aware of the entertainment and informational value of platforms like Twitter and that you can use it anonymously but I simply prefer NT because of the small, “tight knit” community aspect and I have been here for two decades so it is familiar. I also get most of the news pertinent to me through other channels so anything Twitter provided would be redundant or extracurricular anyway.

That Kodak Black video is exactly why I said $1500 because who would want a video like that posted about them

But is there an unwritten agreement if you fly someone out, they have to give up the goods (cucumber, pie hole, etc)?

Old girl in that Kodak video expected to get fed especially by a high profile rapper.

I am actually not sure about the unwritten agreement part but maybe executive76 executive76 can shed some light on that. It's really tough IMO. Personally, I never go into a date expecting to smash, especially if we haven't before. I think it takes off some pressure, allows things to flow more naturally and doesn't ruin your perception of the date afterwards if you don't smash. I feel flying someone out would put extreme pressure on any sexual relations which would be super awkward if you are just meeting that person.

And I actually just didn't watch the Kodak video until just now. "I told you there's barbecue in there" "I got you a properly flight! With a properly driver!"   He knew damn well what he was doing and that he was in the wrong. She also said she flew for 7 hours meaning that joint had a layover too   :smh:

Concur certainly can't go in planning to smash the first night. However, those where I do always a nice surprise. Yeah, I must not be in the right tax bracket I'm not flying any chick out. Got sand right here at the beach; I don't need to fly in California sand to enjoy it. Now I might fly out and see a couple of friends in Cali, but no expectations of taking up all my time. Yeah, I have some business meetings or coworkers taking me out while I am out here, so don't know how many free nights I will have.

It's always funny to me when a woman makes some social media post calling the stranger she doesn't know creepy for trying to **** her after paying for a plane ticket and hotel room. It shouldn't really be that surprising to them and yet...

They don't want to feel like pros so in their mind they're being flown out for the chance to get to know one another. Delusional but its mental self protection.

It's just a way to pretend that they aren't indirectly hyped that someone is willing to fly them out so they "complain", when in reality they just bragging. Some think the person flying them out is generally into them and doesn't realize they just want some cheeks.

These posts are why I can’t conceptualize flying out a stranger  If you are going to fly out a chick that you’re not that into purely for some yambs why not just get a local escort for a fraction of the price and hassle?

Based Jesus Based Jesus and tomdiginson tomdiginson I am thinking of the situation about these women calling the guy creepy and complaining reminds me of the “Expectations vs Reality” scene from 500 Days of Summer.

Expectation: Flowers, 7-course dinner, wine, champagne, passionate love making then cuddling in the honeymoon suite

Reality: Driver picks you up, no food, Port Taylor, getting smutted out and she gotta sleep in the other bed in the tiny two double bed hotel room

I agree. I don't see myself flying anybody out. Maybe if I'm wealthy and this is some bad jawn from another country met while on my travels, but otherwise, why carry sand to the beach?

It's the strangers part that always gets me. Like an instagram DM was enough to hop on a plane a week later to somewhere you've never been and know no one? Have some pride.

I remember one chick filmed a guy and shamed him for kicking her out after she didn't want to **** and I'm thinking "What am I supposed to about it? By the time I see this your *** is out in the cold anyways. Am I meant to avenge you?"
