I been wanting to get a gun for a while now and I have no clue what I would have to do to try and become registered to own one. I just want it for the house toprotect myself just in case anything ever happens. I don't have a criminal record or anything like that. Anyone live in NYC and legally own a firearm? Whatdid you have to go through to become registered? Thanks for any responses.

Fill out a short application.

Take it to 1 police plaza with two money orders and required documentation.

Wait 6 months.

he clearly said legally.
And I'm telling him it's impossible unless he's a cop/FBI/w/e, some type of US military member, or affiliated with protectingpolitical officials.

Not carry it with you you can't. Theyw ant to send a case the the Supreme Court to change the ruling because NYC is like the only area thathas this rule. Check up on your facts dude.

OP clearly stated "I just want it for the house to protect myself just in case anything everhappens".

Thats very legal and very easy to obtain.
