Florida law states that if you lose a case like that and plan to appeal, you have to put a large amount of the money ($50 mil max) in escrow until the appeal is over.

Gawker doesnt make that much.

the founders were held personally liable as well. don't know what that really means and if they indeed have to pony up a lot of money.
it's funny cause after the hogan scandal and also the one where they pretty much helped an escort try and extort money from the CFO of conde neste they shifted their attention to politics and news
