I hear y'all talking about the G.O.A.T.

I'm probably the hugest Jay-z apologist anyone'll ever meet. Big fan. Cool dude when I met him....dope all around...

But I've seen the reactions BIG got when he spit...Jay didnt get that till around '98 when HKL blew him the hell up.

BIG's movement was organic yet strategically executed.

^THIS CUT HERE. F***ING GREATEST #10 ON ANY ALBUM EVER

The 'West Coast' Pac was at his peak and is when he enhanced his influence on the world.

C'mon now dont insult my intelligence. We all know he's from B-More. You knew what I meant.

I'm sorry, sir, but actually the city we were looking for is...

Thanks for playing.

"What I stand here and represent is hope for Brooklyn, New York City. I'm a son of Brooklyn, I'm from Marcy projects," Jay said. "I think about growing up in Brooklyn in the Marcy projects and shooting jump shots, thinking I can make it to the NBA. Now I stand here as an owner of a team that's coming back to Brooklyn. The pride in that, and bringing that dream so much closer for people, brings me so much pride I get a little nervous about it. But I'm very happy, very excited about this day. And we did it again, Brooklyn — shout-out to [Notorious] B.I.G."
-Jay on the groundbreaking Nets move to Brooklyn.

Read Darrin Bastfield's book, he was best friends with 2Pac in Baltimore. It is made very clear that 'Pac thought of himself as being from New York. Even when rappers from the Bay talk about 'Pac, they acknowledge him as being from New York. How he going to be from Baltimore, but rep NY the whole time he there?

HAZE, I dont mean to hi-jack your thread.

I mean you may be right but I remember watching one of Pac's documenteries and him saying how living in Baltimore made him the man that he was and how nobody in NY was messing with him. LOL its funny because the man himself repped Cali more than both the cities we mentioned so it's tough to say.

I was born in Brooklyn and moved to CLE when I was 5 and I don't rep NY 100%; but your valid arguments basically means its ok to say I am a NYer. I see what you're saying though.

Can't be no goat off two albums sorry!

You know why MJ is the GOAT because we not only saw his zenith but also his fall off. Seeing highs an lows gives a more accurate assessment of an artist. We can only speculate how Biggie's career would continue after LAD, we saw how Rakim, Nas & Jay's did thats why there's more credibility when their names are mentioned. Longevity & Consistency are 2 very key components to being considered a GOAT...unfortunately those aspect aren't attributable to BIG. People also don't look at other factors such as hip-hop battles, the Nas/Jay battle helped to define those two artists. What if BIG had gotten into a heavyweight battle and lost, how would he have been viewed by the hip-hop community. Also with BIG still alive his other peers in rap would have been putting out their best music aswell just to be in conversation with BIG so maybe Andre3000, Nas, Jay and etc would have put out better music than they already did. Its too many "What If's" with BIG to label him the GOAT... but he's definitely a hip-hop great
