And Mercers are like the cheapest but decent fixed bikes out there. It is what it is but it's not necessarily a bad thing. But my biggest regret with even my fixie that I got is I should have got a geared bike. Although more expensive, it just makes life easier.

there's nothing wrong with doing what other people seem to enjoy as well. i find it as a form of solidarity. anti-conformists in this day of being impressionable with popular culture / technology are not what they used to be. in fact, anti-conformists are just miserable and find joy in having others not experience what a significant group of humans enjoy.

Just bought one yesterday OP. Got a 7 gear Schwinn Hybrid Bike from Walmart. So far I love it. So many hills where I ride though, so haven't been able to go far and enjoy it since I'm worried about making it back home lol.
I wasn't trying to spend too much but I think I got a good deal. We'll see how long it lasts.
