Anyone here who has had someone dear to them get caught up in a pyramid scheme, how did you break the news to them and hopefully get them back to reality?
I'm really concerned about a friend who is caught up in one (has tried to recruit me on several occasions and actually got mad at me today for not wanting to buy an over-expensive product).
I don't want to be a "discouraging" friend, but I feel our friendship would be a farce if I didn't say something.
Again, if you have experience with this kind of conversation, please share your tips. I'd greatly appreciate it.
...
Just be straight up with them
Honestly...it IS POSSIBLE to make money with these mlm schemes, but it's extremely tough.
Break it to them then suggest something new. Suggest that they give this a rest, and invest that time into something that can benefit them in the long run.
Give them FACTS. Try and pull up statistics of people that actually succeed with these schemes. Pull up NON-BIASED reviews of the scheme from various websites.
Try not to be condescending but more so supportive and suggestive
