think its a good thing. If you look at Jay-z its like he breaks his neck tryna appeal to everyone and to be "Number 1 on Everybodys List" instead of being true to himself and that hurt what his potential could have been as an ARTIST not a superstar. NaS on the other hand stopped caring about this and that and is making the music he wants remaining a true artist.

At the end of the day its about what the artist wants, not what his/her fans want from them. It's true that while building a fan base, and going mainstream, you are trying to stack the dough. But, once you reach a certain plateau, you are back to your true roots; you are left with the God given talent you have. Once the fame is no longer a must-have you go back to artistically expressing yourself through your talent. Look at Jay-Z, in my opinion he was done. He had reached his plateau, and he just wanted to sit back, and be the businessman/hustler he is. Along comes Wayne, and others who have the potential to topple what Jay had accomplished musically, and all of a sudden he now has something new to prove. Not to prove how much money he can make, or how many records he can sell, but the overall fact that NO ONE will ever come close to touching what's he's done. That's his personal conviction, and its a well respected one.
