Cyrus the Great was Persian, but yea a somewhat similar area. You should read up on the greatest, and my personal favorite, King Darius the Great.

Now Nebuchadnezzar II was a true Mesopotamian King, dude built the hanging Gardens at Babylon. :pimp:

The entire middle/near east to western asia area is mad confusing but so interesting and theres soo much to learn.

Agreed, this area is highly neglected in history classes. I definitely will pick up a few books on the middle-east now. Most of the info I know is about the Persian Empire and the Crusades/Muslim expansion.
 
^ yea man in HS it seems like Mesopotamia just falls off and you never hear about it again until Islam, which is far from the truth.

Definitely gotta do your own research.
