ipad for med school?

I personally don't think I have any use for one, but for somebody that needs to purchase books, take notes, etc. It could be a useful tool. Like someone already said, I'd check with the school on what they recommend.

Getting the keyboard adapter may make it much more practical than a laptop/netbook if your textbooks are carried in the ebook store or whatever apple uses

It's gonna be tough pulling it out of you white coat on rounds looking up side effects of digoxin when you're on the floors in 2 years. Do yourself a favor and get a laptop and PDA/smart phone

I went to UNLV where I majored in kinesiology and graduated with a 3.8gpa. I will be attending PUCMM in Santiago Dominican Republic in the fall. This school does not require mcat but I had to take another entrance exam

i'm not a med student but it COULD be useful if you're watching procedures and you're standing up and you need to take notes. if you're just sitting in class a laptop/netbook would be more than sufficient

Probably not, but those medical apps on the iPhone will help.
I wish my professors let me use med apps for my pharmacology and lab exams.  I probably wouldn't have flunked out of my respiratory care major.

the thing doesnt even have a stylus, and you are not going to take notes on a virtual keyboard

lets be realistic, the ipad is made for one thing only and that is entertainment

all the real pros use lenovos and toughbooks

In that case I wouldn't recommend getting something flashy like an Ipad.

I know a lot of people in the Carribean that got robbed and lost a bunch.  Phones, laptops, you name it.  I don't know specifically if conditions are similar in DR, but I'm assuming so.  Locals usually like to take advantage of foreigners with money

oh yea, forgot about that. in that case, iPads aren't even necessary.
