Ipad vs Android Tablets

I would get a. I pad 1 or 2 haven't really messed with the Android tablets

The big factor for me when I bought the tablet were the apps.  The iPad will always have the most and best apps available compared to the android tablets.  I have an Android phone and it gets annoying sometimes when I see an app for apple and it's not available to me.
When i'm in the market for a new tablet though I will definitely try out an Android one.  Asus, Motorola, and Samsung are putting really nice ones out and some have ports which is something i wish the iPad had.

iPads (for that matter mobile devices) are trying to stay away from Flash because it is a battery hog and an open port for malware, viruses, etc... Even the Flash plugs for mobile devices now are open drains on your battery. It is just one of the biggest knocks against the iOS but to be honest, it is a welcome subtraction. I already have to charge my iPhone enough as it is, Flash would kill it.

I like the Android, mainly because I prefer it to iOS and the buttons. There' no apps not out for Android that I would use other than maybe Hulu. There is a Netflix app out already. Just google "Netflix .apk" and you have to install it that way.

MAC OS is a bit less locked down than iOS. For flash to work on a browser you need to install the plug-in which installs the framework for flash and what not. On iOS applications do not have that ability because of the development TOA

“An Application may not itself install or launch other executable code by any means, including without limitation through the use of a plug-in architecture, calling other frameworks, other APIs or otherwise,

^ what about pornography based flv sites? NBA.com videos (they eventually do end up on YT 2 days laters)?

i seriously done know why i want an ipad, or why i even own an ipod.

The social spiral is seriously a strong #$% force.

with that said, it would be stupid not to buy an Android product, just based on how open and versatile they are.
I love how iOS is customizable, to death. Im a big fan of customizing everything that i have.
But, even thought I dont have an android product, i know they give more bang for bucks hand down.

Many porn sites have switched to HTML 5 friendly versions for mobile devices just do a quick google search even ******* has one, obviously small ones are still using flash but a lot of big ones have converted. NBA.Com videos should be available on the NBA Gametime app . The only sites that arent really accessible on the iPhone are your gray-area legal sites like sports streams sites and what not.

Dailymotion has an app for android and ios, but trust, you can't get to the "good" videos via the app, or their Blu Ray app. I log into my account and click favorites or subscriptions, and nothing

Thats all on Dailymotion though its up to them to allow you to change the family filter, but on the SRS you really fapping to Daily Motion like that?

edit: By the way Dailymotion is a supporter of the HTML5 movement, you can switch to the HTML5 beta here http://www.dailymotion.com/html5 but for some reason it isnt working for me might just be bad luck.

how is nook color as an android tablet? for 250$ isn't it a pretty good value?

Doesn't work for me either. And that's what I'm saying, the apps don't give you that option. No fapping though. And bruh, you can get that Nook Color for 199 http://www.buy.com/retail/Product.asp?sku=221376447 It's already has basic tablet functions like web browsing and email, but you root it to a full tablet and since there's Nook/ereader apps, you don't lose that aspect of it either.

i couldn't imagine spending $500+ on a machine that is MADE to browse the internet and have it to be limited in using the world wide web with webpages that aren't flash-friendly.
honeycomb ftw!

xoom & tab -- really can't decide between the 2!

i think it has to do more with forcing people to buy/download from the itunes/apple store to play games & watch videos instead of playing on sites with free games/videos through flash.
i'm pretty sure that's the major reason.

My advice is to go to Bestbuy or any electronic store that has them on working display and play around w/ both to see which OS u like the best. The whole lack of flash thing is a major factor.

I personally don't like the fact how developers will create an app for apple products and will never create an apk for Android....But that's another story.

Wal Mart in Mississippi had the Acer Iconia for $349. It's $100 more on the website (with bonus games) and $149 without them (stupid mistake on their part). The screen on that is gorgeous though, but I already have the Samsung Galaxy with ATT 3g access. Another bonus for the Android ones, is most are microsd card expandable and some even have ports where you can conect a flash drive if your media collection is really that large. Plus I don't like the idea of not having hardware buttons. I'll admit, the Ipad2 screen styles on the Samsung Galaxy 7 inch screen though. I think they improved it on the 10.1 inch version. If I could get $250 for this Galaxy, I'd switch to the bigger one or the Iconia by Acer, or Asus Transformer.

Id say the top androids right now are the samsung galaxy 10.1, then the asus transformer. Theres the toshiba thrive coming out later this year.

Android = beta tester, pontential for future, google plus coming soon

Apple = smooth as a babys bottom, but also i think everyone has got used to their limitations and want more.

Androids a little to young to compete, but it has an very open future that can be a big success or just an elongated flop
