Melo is what he was 5 years ago. Nothing has changed at all. And I am not sure if he was ever "Top 10." Well I guess at one point he could have been the clear cut choice as the #2 SF but that is dead now.
Nah, Melo is clearly having his worst season and he's in the perfect position and on the perfect stage for everyone to pile on. He's been injured, but now I think his confidence is shot. I have no doubt he'll bounce back. He's a career 46% shooter shooting 39% this season. Something's gotta give.
As for "5 years ago," I don't think he's even close to that level offensively (FG%):
06-07 FG% 0.476
07-08 FG% 0.492
11-12 FG% 0.399

[/font]
His FG% has literally dropped 10% from 4 seasons ago. He had surgery this off season, but it's just hard to watch him struggle offensively when he used to be so efficient and fluid. He looks like he trying to think his offensive game through. He'll bounce back. I just hope they can keep this core unit of players together.

I am looking at his skills and not his production. Same dude.

How do you feel about Kevin Durant's game? Statistically, they've matched up pretty well.

This.
Plus he has to walk a huggggee flight of steps to get to his car before the game starts, because of how tall these NYC buildings are.
He's usually tired before the game starts. He has it harder than a lot of other NBA players.

Two different players. Melo is more of a power player offensively and Durant is, for the most part, a jump shooter. Not saying Durant can't score in other ways but when I THINK of Durant I picture him shooting jumpers. When I think of Melo I think of jab step, jab step, jab step, jab step, jab step, jab step, jab step, midrange. Or post up, drop step, bucket.Originally Posted by TraSoul82

I normally don't respond to nonsense, but:Originally Posted by 10027

Well, let's see: Durant won the scoring title the last two years, which melo has never done, while shooting a better percentage. He's also a leader, a smart player, and a winner. He doesn't make players around him worse or frustrate his coaches. So yeah, that's the difference between a B-class 'star' and one of the best players in the league.
