Is College Overrated?

At one point I thought college was overrated but that was also when I wasn't doing so well. But like everyone said its definitely about networking and youcan do that by getting involved on campus or just putting yourself out there.

I had the opportunity to pledge while im in college and only recently have I started to to reach out to some of my successful brothers and MOST are alwayswilling too help someone who they see is really trying to do something with their life.....

Pretty much.

The rank of your college (in addition to GPA, major, networking, internships) will play a factor in the value of your degree. There are universities where companies are on a waiting list to even go to career fairs because the career fairs are over-booked with top companies trying to hire students.

Then their are schools where 90% of the students have never even heard of "on-campus interviews", jobs lined up the semester before graduation, etc. And they have to go the monster.com route. If you fall into the 2nd category, I can see how you would feel college is overrated.
QFT.

Alot of good answers in here...

I've wondering this myself and especially if college is even necessary at times(I have 2.5yrs under my belt) but I know cats who went and didn't finishor who didn't go at all and are making 6 figured at legit jobs and that are my age or slightly lower.

knowing what your doing trumps all other things. If you know what you are doing its only a matter of time before you will meet the right people, assuming youare out there networking.

talking about college, i might buckle down and get that damn degree soo i can get into the aviation field!

College is far from bull *%#. A bachelors degree is becoming a lot more common though.

That's why you goto grad school...go the extra step to get that MBA,doctorate, or whatever and you will see it's not overrated.
