It became overrated once everyone and their mother saw it. IMO no one who saw it opening day can say they didn't enjoy the movie, it's when it became too popular that it seemed overrated.

at yall who judge a movie based on what other people thought about it first, if you catch on to something late and everyone else tells you about it chances are it's not gonna live up to the hype.

But, because it got a lot of mainstream press...it is "overrated" or "hyped"...

The General Release is always going to lose out because YOU don't feel as cool because everyone knows about the General Release...no matter how much better the GR looks...

I respectfully disagree, personally just didn't find it that funny, i avoided all trailers, previews and paid NO attention to any ppl saying it was hilarious and just wanted to see it

but when I finally went and copped the Blu Ray, I was not impressed or really entertained by it...not because of overhype just didn't get into it...

My thought exactly.  I just saw it over the weekend with a bunch of people, and we were all crying.

Not my favorite comedy, but it def wasn't a disappointment.  How can you not laugh at the #$%@ that goes on in that movie.  I was on the floor from that Tyson knockout

You might be right.  I bought it cuz of what everyone told me about it.  Again I'm not trying to say its not an enjoyable movie, there were funny parts, it just wasn't laugh the whole time funny like ppl told me.  I'll give it another try.
