This article makes a pretty good argument for the Super Dome having the most historic significance over multiple sporting events.

NEW ORLEANS – The first thing you notice on the drive into New Orleans is the giant bronze spaceship that’s landed at the foot of a modest skyline. It’s sleek, shiny, windowless, and in a town bursting with old-world character and charm, fits in like a disco ball in a room full of rocking chairs.

At first glance, it’s an oddity more than a marvel, which is maybe why, despite all the evidence in its favor, no one’s really noticed that over the last 30-plus years the Superdome has become the most historically significant sporting venue in America.

You want seminal moments? The Superdome is where a college freshman named Michael Jordan nailed a jumper to lift North Carolina over Georgetown; it’s where Roberto Duran told Sugar Ray Leonard, “No más

Have any of those held more historic moments though? I think the only one that might come close is MSG, but then again, I can't think of too many memorable events that have held historic significance there over the past 15 years.

The Olympiastadion in Berlin is by far the most historic active sports venue with Wembley just behind. There isn't much in the US with international recognition other than maybe MSG or the Rose Bowl.

Maybe in terms of holding historic moments, MSG isn't number one. But imo is without a doubt that most well known venue in the world

In the World? Not even close bruh. Not even the most historic venue in the US.

Y'all are late to the party. The OG title was "Is the Superdome the most historic sports venue in the world". Nothing about active.
