Israel declares War - Destruction of Gaza / Growing conflict in Middle East

We touched on this before...

Most of the Arab states were placed with leaders that are loyal or more to the interest of the imperial powers when they carved it up
If you are not an actual ally, eventually there's regime change of they assassinate you.

This assumes that those leaders don't have regional ambitions of their own, and it ignores the long history of regional tensions between middle eastern nations.

Talking about former colonial powers today as if we were still in the Cold war era indicates that you ignore all the evidence that shows their decreasing influence (France in the Sahel, the BRICS, Russia bypassing the SWIFT system, African countries preferring an economic relationship with China, etc...).

Never just look at the surface or what they say, follow the trail and follow the money.

It's interesting you see it as Hamas messed up when many other commentators and analysts see this as a checkmate for Hamas.
Am I inventing comments from some insiders of Hamas (the political side of it) who have stated that Hamas' actions set the Palestinian cause back decades/centuries? There have been reports about internal tensions within Hamas here (granted, this is a pro-AIPAC think tank, but it does give more detail as to why the political branch of Hamas initially denied the extent of Hamas' involvement, as reported here).

This was already all planned and in the works, and Israel was already going to take over Gaza completely to decimate it. What Hamas did was put them on blast and put many obstacles in their way.

Your first sentence highlights a failure of leadership: before Oct 7th, anyone could tell you that Bibi and his current government had the full intent to prevent the formation of a Palestinian state; anyone with respect for past data could've predicted, while drunk and high, that any significant attack on Israeli territory ruled by this government would result in the kind of response we're seeing today and would be used to justify Israel's actions in the West Bank.

And considering the way things currently present themselves, Hamas has only succeeded in slowing down the impending peace deal between Saudi Arabia and Israel. The plan to get Hezbollah and all other anti-Israel militant groups to open up new fronts didn't work. They have jeopardized the last consistent lifeline that's keeping Gazans alive (UNRWA). They're facing an enemy that's willing to become an international pariah and risk even more regional destabilization to decapitate Hamas leadership.

I don't know how any of this is "putting Israel on blast."

Guys. We had it all wrong.

It’s not Israel that’s causing famine. It’s the Houthis!!!

Or...You could use your brain and realize it's both.
With Israel being the overwhelming primary cause obviously, but it doesn't change that the Houthis aren't helping.
Ships have to take into account that they might get struck by Houthi missiles, so they charge significantly higher rates and/or decrease trading volume. It's pretty simple.
Doesn't really matter what flag they sail under, they even fired missiles at a ship delivering Brazilian corn to Iran, the Houthis' biggest ally.

All the Houthis are doing is handicapping themselves and everyone around them. No country supporting Israel has changed their policy because of the Houthis, it's pointless and delusional gesturing that only hurts the populations affected by the shipping companies hiking prices.

And there it is:

Extensive damage prompted the crew, all of whom are safe, to abandon the ship.

US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed on Saturday that the ship was now “anchored but slowly taking on water”, which it said has caused a 29-kilometre (18-mile) oil slick.

The vessel was transporting more than 41,000 tonnes of fertiliser when attacked, the military said, “which could spill into the Red Sea and worsen this environmental disaster”.

Who cares about the countries in the Horn of Africa anyway?

Attacks by Houthi forces against ships in the Red Sea are holding up shipments of vital aid to Sudan and driving up costs for cash-strapped humanitarian agencies in the east African country, where conflict has put millions at risk of famine.

There's a civil war going on in Sudan. The RSF (the folks behind the Darfur genocide) have gone back at it. But who cares?

Maybe by the MSM followers he’ll be forgotten but I think he’ll go down as a legend for the many globally that support Palestinian Liberation.

It’s funny how MSM is trying to spin this. They’re damaging their own credibility more and more by the day and forcing people to seek alternatives by removing their veils to show their biases.

I only watch MSM and listen to what US intelligence tells me.

They always tell the truth. We are the most moral country.

***** hat liberal here: where is the outrage over Aaron Bushell using gasoline and not reusable energy?

Believe it or not, people somehow still deny the spin even on this very board.

Glad everything is being put on full display.

These are the same people that buy the military industrial complex propaganda that I*real is a “strategic ally” for “peace” in the Middle East. Instead of a leech foreign government that has infiltrated our government via AIPAC to steal billions annually from American taxpayers, and seeks to perpetuate wars and grab land from its other neighboring countries and not just Palestine. Which continually destabilizes the region instead of promotes peace.

The Jon Stewart segment today on Israel Palestine is very very sneaky

if you know about the conflict really well (not cnn level knowledge but Finkelstein, Mearsheimer level of knowledge), you’ll watch that and kind of scratch your head a bit bc some of it sounds very Israeli propaganda ish. Just have to watch it to see what I mean.

He still says things cnn would never dare so props to him for that but it’s amazing how much the lazy argument of “well it’s just been like this forever and they hate each other for 1000s of years”
